abu huraira reported: the messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “when the muslim slave or believer washes his face in ablution, every sin that he committed with his eyes will be washed away with the last drop of water. when he washes his hands, every sin that he committed with his hands will be washed away with the last drop of water. when he washes his feet, every sin that he committed with his feet will be washed away with the last drop of water, until he emerges purified from sin.” – sahih muslim the doors to Allah’s mercy are vast and many, but are we rushing to them? there is a saying by sh. ibn uthaymeen رحمه الله in which he mentioned an important principle: "عبادات أهل الغفلة عادات، وعادات أهل اليقظة عبادات" (The worship of heedless people is merely a habit, while the habits of mindful people are acts of worship). Is your wudhu, salah, dhikr, just something you do as a habit, or a constant reminder of your Creator and whose Mercy and رضى you are seeking?
It was narrated from 'Ubaidullah that: he heard Ibn 'Abbas, when he was asked about the fast of 'Ashura' say: "I do not know that the Prophet fasted any day because of its virtue, except this day" meaning the month of Ramadan and the day of Ashura.' – sunan an-nasai'

we all have a time, a period where perhaps our aspirations were high and it felt like a light that would never turn off. i too had this. i was packing some papers today when i stumbled upon my old diary. entries from when i was 11, 12, 16, 19, and so forth. the reality is, i struggled like we all do in all those ages but while i could before look back at them and laugh, now as a full fledged adult, i see them differently now. i see them as a reminder that our time is fleeting, that when Allah blesses you with iman, it is upon you to hold tight and keep turning to the one who blessed you with it in the first place. talents you have been given will not necessarily stay, your youth of today will only be a distant memory. It’s strange, one day you are sitting in the young children’s table and the next it is you who assigns them their seats. I found myself asking myself, how have I changed for the better and what can I learn from my young self. perhaps these are great questions for all of us: how have I strengthened my relationship with Allah? How is my time spent and what chips away at it wrongfully? How am I in service of my parents and my community? And what am I leaving behind that will continue on as ongoing charity for me long before I am gone? we will always have shortcomings, it is normal and it is truly at the end, a matter of holding ourselves accountable and returning to Allah better than when we fell short. May Allah grant us all a long life spent in obedience to Him and in doing kheyr, for ourselves and for those around us.

the messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “remember often the destroyer of pleasures: death.” — sunan at-tirmidhī
Inna lillaahi wa inna ileyhi raajicuun a beloved sister, nasteha, who was so beloved to her community, returned to her Lord yesterday. If you have not heard of her, she was someone who loved ilm and often shared beneficial knowledge with us all. I will share a reminder of hers below in case it serves as sadaqah jaariyah for her. Please do keep her in your prayers this blessed jummuah 🤍 https://discipleofdisciples.wordpress.com/2019/01/14/10-steps-to-loving-knowledge/?fbclid=PAdGRleASYc_5leHRuA2FlbQIxMQBzcnRjBmFwcF9pZA8xMjQwMjQ1NzQyODc0MTQAAaeweq0WSIlXyIm-1zsXxwEFmcOAoJnUwA74n-dJ1EQ1iOe9YATNYm8YMWy0Dw_aem_qFiY6aI44JVmNM26-YZTLw
Eid Mubarak to all 🕊️ May Allah accept the good deeds from us and from you. While we celebrate, do not forget those with less than us. Those suffering, and those who are oppressed, those grieving and those who have passed before us 🤍
al fudhail saw the supplications of people and their weeping on the night of `Arafah and asked the crowds, “If these people went to a man and asked him for a daniq (a very small amount of money), would he refuse?” yhe people said, “No.” he said, “Allah’s forgiveness is even easier to obtain than that.”

the prophet ﷺ said: « no good deeds are better than what is done in these first ten days of dhul hijjah. » dhikr, sadaqah, listening and reading the qurān, fasting, being kind to people and being of service to your loved ones, sharing khayr and benefits to others, tawbah, qiyam, dua…and so forth. truly, the list of khayr we can do in these days especially is endless. الحمدلله let’s not let it pass us without being sincere and striving!
the prophet ﷺ said: whoever has the following four (characteristics) will be a pure hypocrite and whoever has one of the following four characteristics will have one characteristic of hypocrisy unless and until he gives it up: whenever he is entrusted, he betrays. whenever he speaks, he tells a lie. whenever he makes a covenant, he proves treacherous. whenever he quarrels, he behaves in a very imprudent, evil and insulting manner." — bukhari and muslim in our day and age, these traits are normalised to the point where upon reading this, you many think of many instances in which someone has not stuck to their word, and perhaps we ourselves are these people who have been in these situations. maybe it is rare to find someone who does the opposite to all of these actions. we may also often think that we have to say ' i promise you' to not be breaking a pact, and stick to your word. it can be something that we deem to be small and simple like, saying you will do something and not doing it out of laziness, or saying you will be somewhere at a specific time and not arriving at the time you said you will. we often see that it has become a joke that a group of people are known to be always late, or to not do what they are told, but there is nothing humorous about having hypocrisy growing in our hearts. and so if we do know this, and we know it to be a common trait now, and something many of us are prone to sometimes, should we do not all be scared? should we not all strive to be muslims who keep their word, their promises, and behave in the way the prophet ﷺ taught us and Allah loves? may Allah protect us and keep us far away from hypocrisy.
in these last hours before maghreb on this blessed day, do not forget those deprived of the blessings you easily disregard ❤️
