It is important to give children the chance to act independently and make their own decisions from early age. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this idea? There is a view that children should be granted the freedom regarding behaving and decision making. While I agree with this assertion, I believe that parental involvement is essential as long as it is not too restrictive and protective. The opportunity to make their own decisions and behave independently from an early age fosters a sense of responsibility. When children are free to act, they are more likely to make mistakes. As these mistakes are made by themselves, they cannot shift the blame to others, holding them accountable for their own actions. This accountability can reduce dependency on others’ support, instilling the idea of not expecting others to come in in difficult times, which builds resilience. Some might argue that the consequences of their decisions could be detrimental. For example, they might associate with peers with immoral conduct. While this concern is valid, this is where parents should come into play, meaning they should be aware of whether their children are engaging in too risky activities. In this way, they can ensure that children identify whether their interests lie without leaving their future to risk. Equally important is that children learn to accept the fact that failures are an inevitable part of self-growth. Some children strive for excellence in their academic or athletic pursuits, where the freedom of choice is appreciated. Along the way, they are highly likely to fail to achieve the desired outcomes. It could be argued that these failings can discourage children from continuing with the same level of enthusiasm and determination, leading to early give-up. While this is worth being concerned about, I believe that parents and teachers must interact with children to explain that what matters most is not failing, but being able to bounce back from that. This early realization of how important it is to move forward in the face of setbacks helps children achieve their goals no matter what it takes. In conclusion, permitting children to make their own decisions offers benefits, such as greater responsibility and the ability to recover from downs, on occasion that these choices do not pose harms to their development. This is where parental intervention, which should not be not too judgmental, plays a crucial role. #essaybyme

  • The maps show the transformation of the village called Ryemouth since 1995. Overall, the village, which used to be green, served primarily commercial and agricultural purposes. Having experienced significant transformation, it has become more residential and recreational, with the introduction of more housing and entertainment facilities at the expense of some original features. In 1995, sea occupied the southern section of the village, with a fishing port in the middle. Moving towards the north, there was a road crossing the village from the west to the east. Along the west side of the road near sea, a line of fish market was located, while shops were lined up on the opposite side. Similarly, a café and hotel, which faced each other, were situated on either side of the road, with the café close to sea. This road was connected to another one stretching from the top left corner, with houses standing on its both top sides. Meanwhile, a larger area in the northeast was dedicated to farming, below which a forest could be found. Since then, the place has undergone major modifications. The first change was the removal of the port, while the fish market was demolished to make way for apartments. However, the hotel and café were not subject to change, while a car park has been established next to the former. The shops, which used to stand opposite to the fish market, were repurposed into a restaurant. On the west side, two additional houses were built, with access provided. The last alteration has been the loss of the farmland and forest so that golf and tennis courts have been created.

In many countries, the number of people who use bicycles as their main form of transport is decreasing. Why is this? What can be done to encourage people to use bicycles as their main form of transport?   In many countries, using bicycles as the primary mode of transport is not as common as in the past. While this can be attributed to current urban planning and the appeal of other forms of transport, cycling can be encouraged by establishing necessary infrastructure and educating the public. One of the primary reasons why relying on bicycles has declined in many countries is the lack of dedicated space. Modern cities today are characterized by high-rise buildings and highways where cycling is deemed dangerous. In this case, turning to other modes of transport like cars seems to be a safer way of getting around. For instance, in Tashkent, most residents do not have an opportunity to ride a bike due to the absence of place conducive to cycling. Another contributing factor is that other types of transport, such as buses and even taxis are relatively affordable. When using these does not stretch their budget too thin, individuals may inherently want to use them thanks to greater convenience they offer. In other words, such transport links carry passengers considerably faster than bicycles, and also do not make them physically fatigued, especially after long hours of working or studying. This is especially valuable in bad weather conditions like heavy storm, rain, snow or scorching heat when using bikes requires great effort. As for the methods to encourage cycling, establishing designated lanes for bicycles is the primary one. When there are special routes for cycling where it is not interrupted by other means of transport, more and more people may want to turn to this mode. Finland, for example – a nation which created favorable conditions for cycling and has seen a noticeable rise in using bicycles, whether to work, university or school. Some might argue that investing in such infrastructure can impose a burden on government budget, particularly in low-income countries. While this concern is valid, the long-terms benefits in the form of reduced traffic and thus less pollution will override it. Equally effective is to educate the public about the importance of using bicycles. Relying on this form of transport has health benefits, as this necessitates physical movement, which is essential for blood circulation. This, in turn, helps people maintain good physical health and avoid conditions like obesity. Also, cycling is beneficial for the environment. When more and more people turn away from cars, which releases huge amounts of greenhouse gas emissions, to bicycles, there will be significantly less pollution and, as a result, a cleaner environment. Once people are aware of such merits coming along with utilizing bicycles, some, if not most, of them are more likely to make a positive change. In conclusion, lack of necessary infrastructure and cost-effectiveness of public and even private transport are the primary contributors to a decline in the popularity of cycling. People can be encouraged to cycle more by building dedicated cycling lanes where it is safe to use bicycles and educating how beneficial this is for both health and the environment.

The table compares five countries in terms of consumer spending on three categories in 2002.   Overall, all countries listed, especially Turkey, allocated the largest proportion of expenditure to food, drink and tobacco, while leisure and education recorded the smallest figure in all nations given, particularly in Spain. By contrast, clothing and footwear represented similar spending patterns across these countries, with Italy surpassing the others by noticeable margins. Food, drink and tobacco were the biggest expense for all countries studied. Spending 32.14% on this category, Turkey led the pack, followed closely by Ireland at 28.91%. The remaining countries – Italy, Spain and Sweden – devoted relatively lower percentages, with figures ranging between 15.77% and 18.80%.   Ranking second was the category called clothing and footwear. Italy, which spent 9.00% on this consumer item, stood ahead of the other nations. While Ireland, Spain and Turkey had similar figures at around 6.50% each, Sweden lagged behind with 5.40%.   All countries shown, in contrast, prioritized leisure and education the least. Turkey’s expenditure accounted for 4.35%, which was comparatively higher than those of the others. Following some way behind came Italy and Sweden whose spending made up 3.20% each, whereas Ireland and Spain devoted 2.21% and a mere 1.98% to leisure and education respectively.

The line graph compares the number of people attending top-level football matches in three European countries between 1980 and 2004. In general, although experiencing a rise initially, the attendance rate in Italy dropped significantly throughout the period shown. Meanwhile, the other two countries, England and Germany, showed the reverse pattern; both, following a broadly similar trajectory, saw a decline at the beginning, but an increase till the end, with both overtaking Italy. Italy emerged as the leading country, with the number of spectators attending high-profile football matches standing at 35,000 in 1980. By 1986, this number had risen modestly to around 37,000, after which the figure represented a consistent drop, reaching 25,000 in 2004, bringing its position to the last. England and Germany, in 1980, had an identical number of football match attendees at 25,000. Over the six-year period, their figures fell to varying extents, declining to around 23,000 (England) and 18,000 (Germany) before making a recovery sometime in 1998, a time when these numbers reached parity with that in Italy. These rising trends continued by the end of the period, with the attendance rate in England and Germany reaching the respective approximately 34,000 and 32,000. #reportbyme 192 words

The bar chart compares four countries in terms of the percentage of male and female employees aged 60 to 64 in 1970 and 2000. Overall, the proportion of both males and females working in their early 60s declined, albeit to varying extents, in all countries shown, with women consistently seeing a greater decline. Notably, in 2000, the gender gap was more pronounced than in 1970, in all the given nations, especially in Belgium.   The US and Indonesia had comparatively higher figures than the other two countries, regardless of gender, in both years. In 1970, in the US, male employment accounted for a whopping 86%, a chart-high rate, compared to the female figure at 78%. By 2000, the percentage of male workers aged 60 to 64 in the US had dropped by 8 percentage points, while that of their female counterparts showed a much more dramatic dip, falling to 45%. Ranking second was Indonesia in both male and female employment, with 84% of men working at the age of 60-64, in comparison with women of the same age at 65%.     The other two countries represented contrasting pictures. In Belgium, in 1970, 79% of males falling into the 60-64 age bracket were in employment, compared to females at 63%. In the same year, Japan had similar employment rates, with 76% of male and 56% female seniors employed. Coming to 2000, Japan maintained the gender disparity, despite experiencing noticeably decreases in the proportion of workforce to 63% (males) and 47% (females). However, in 2000, the gap between genders significantly widened in Belgium after the proportion of male workforce dropped markedly to 52%, while the falling rate for females was even greater, to a mere 8%. #reportbyme 282 words
