𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗜 In Parliament, I asked how GovTech is preparing its workforce as it shifts from project delivery towards long term product ownership, especially as AI enables digital services to be developed faster, more efficiently and with smaller teams. As roles in project management, vendor management and product development evolve, we need to ensure our tech professionals, including mid career workers, have the skills and retraining pathways to stay relevant. Acting Minister Ms Jasmin Lau shared that GovTech is equipping its officers with a strong foundation in AI so they can harness its benefits while continuing to build and improve the digital services Singaporeans rely on. This matters to Singaporeans because digital transformation is ultimately about people. We should capture the productivity gains from AI while continuing to create meaningful careers and opportunities for our workforce. Technology will keep changing, but our focus must remain on helping Singaporeans grow alongside it. How can we best harness AI while ensuring no one is left behind in our digital future? #yiochukang #ycksmc #greatyio #SGParliament #Singapore #SingaporeParliament #GovTech #DigitalSingapore #DigitalTransformation #ArtificialIntelligence #AI #FutureOfWork #TechWorkforce #WorkforceTransformation #SkillsFuture #Upskilling #Reskilling #MidCareer #CareerDevelopment #DigitalSkills #Technology #PublicService #Innovation #Productivity #SingaporeTech #SmartNation https://www.facebook.com/share/v/19KhJE7sZ9/?mibextid=wwXIfr

𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗧𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿, 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗲 Singapore’s story has always been about what we build together. As we mark our 61st National Day, I’m reminded that resilience comes from strong communities, trusted institutions and people willing to adapt and support one another. That spirit was on full display at @SCCCI’s National Day Dinner, as we celebrated 120 years of bringing our business community closer, opening doors and creating new possibilities. A meaningful milestone and a timely reminder that Singapore is strongest when we move forward together. Happy National Day, Singapore. 5% tariff on approximately one-third of Singapore’s exports to the US; and (b) whether the Government will introduce additional measures to help affected exporters diversify markets, strengthen supply-chain resilience and preserve Singapore’s competitiveness. To ask the Coordinating Minister for Social Policies and Minister for Health (a) whether the temporary support measures for Government-contracted transport services which ended in June 2026, will be renewed amid the ongoing fuel price spikes; and (b) whether these support measures will be extended to other private ambulance operators to mitigate the impact of potential fuel price increases on Social Service Agencies and patients in need. To ask the Minister for National Development (a) whether the Ministry will mandate age-calibrated minimum sinking funds ring-fenced for essential infrastructure, alongside public financial disclosures for condominiums; and (b) whether the existing inspection regime can be strengthened by requiring remedial or renewal works where inspections identify significant deterioration in essential equipment like fire systems and water tanks in older private condominiums. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/19GKyPnjng/?mibextid=wwXIfr
𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 Every Parliamentary sitting is another opportunity to raise the concerns that residents share with me and the issues that will shape Singapore's future. For the upcoming sitting tmrw, I've filed questions on topics ranging from tax fairness, AI and technology jobs, road safety, healthcare, housing, trade and economic resilience, to support for vulnerable patients and stronger governance of ageing infrastructure. Parliament works best when it stays grounded in the realities that Singaporeans face every day, and I will continue to ask the difficult questions, seek practical solutions, and speak up for the issues that matter to our community and our country. <<Parliamentary Questions for Aug 2026>> To ask the Prime Minister and Minister for Finance (a) how frequently IRAS conducts audits on self-employed professionals to enforce accurate tax reporting and curb tax avoidance; and (b) whether the Ministry will consider taking punitive action against professional advisors, such as lawyers and accountants, who actively advise clients to engage in tax avoidance schemes. To ask the Minister for Digital Development and Information (a) whether GovTech’s move from project delivery to product ownership reflects a broader shift in public-sector technology hiring; (b) how the Government's demand for project, vendor-management and product-development roles is expected to change; and (c) what implications these have for the wider technology workforce, including mid-career workers and their retraining pathways. To ask the Minister for Transport regarding non-approved devices sold or marketed as seat belt modifications (a) what is the number of casualties linked to such devices over the past two years; (b) how will LTA increase roadside checks for better enforcement against the use of such devices; and (c) whether LTA will collaborate with e-commerce platforms to systematically ban listings of these non-compliant devices. To ask the Coordinating Minister for Social Policies and Minister for Health (a) whether insurance clauses refusing payouts for corrections of medical procedure complications or errors are allowed in consumer insurance contracts; (b) if so, whether this has been observed to result in healthcare providers practising defensive medicine for complex issues and high-risk patients; and (c) whether the Ministry will regulate such clauses, given their potential impact on MediShield and CareShield Life. To ask the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry (a) what is the threshold at which the extraterritorial application of foreign laws on Singapore-domiciled companies infringes upon Singapore’s sovereignty; (b) what legal frameworks protect these entities from foreign regulatory overreach; and (c) how does the Government ensure such incidents do not undermine Singapore’s reputation as a neutral business hub. To ask the Coordinating Minister for Social Policies and Minister for Health regarding the Singapore Medical Foundation AI Model (SIMFONI) initiative (a) what are the rationale and cost of developing AI models for conditions that can be diagnosed by routine tests, instead of targeting rare diseases that are harder to diagnose; (b) how will clinicians access SIMFONI and whether private practitioners will be included; and (c) what safeguards protect patient identifiers from data leaks. To ask the Minister for National Development (a) what criteria HDB applies when assessing appeals from families seeking to sell their flats before fulfilling the Minimum Occupation Period due to changed housing needs following the birth of children; and (b) whether HDB will introduce a facilitated pathway for such families to move to larger flats, subject to safeguards against speculative gains. To ask the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry (a) what assessment has MTI made of the impact of the new United States 12.
𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗨𝘀 𝗧𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 Brought my grassroots leaders to watch Dear You together. It was more than just a movie. Through its powerful themes of family, heritage and identity, it reminded us that everyone has a story worth listening to. As grassroots leaders, understanding the experiences, hopes and struggles of our residents helps us serve with greater empathy and build a stronger, more caring community. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1Cj87Fudrp/?mibextid=wwXIfr
𝗔𝗻 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲 Dropped by to visit the PAP-PCF marching contingent as they prepare for this year’s National Day Parade. The energy was infectious, with everyone in high spirits despite the long hours of rehearsals. It was especially meaningful for me as I had the privilege of serving as the contingent commander a few years ago. Catching up with familiar faces brought back many fond memories of the camaraderie and dedication that make the parade so special. What struck me most was that many have been marching for years because they see it as an honour to represent PAP-PCF and celebrate Singapore on our nation’s biggest stage. Their commitment and quiet service embody the National Day spirit. Wishing the entire contingent all the very best for the parade! https://www.facebook.com/share/p/19EyE1soPU/?mibextid=wwXIfr
𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 Some of the best conversations happen over a simple late-night meal. It was great spending the evening walking around Concorde Ville, catching up with residents over supper and hearing how everyone is doing. These conversations keep me grounded in what matters most, and I’m always grateful for the chance to listen, learn, and work together to make our community an even better place. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=pfbid0k4nfECXe8CfafkTTB4yBHxAFAB3V3cQ5jMkt5RcWR3dw6fHae39G7fya8sT2xsh5l&id=100058066689921&mibextid=wwXIfr
𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗧𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗟𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗙𝗿𝘂𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘆 Sometimes, building a stronger community is as simple as sharing a table filled with durians, mangosteens, rambutans, and plenty of laughter. It was wonderful to see residents, old and new, spending the afternoon getting to know one another, proving that the kampung spirit is built through these everyday moments of connection. Thank you to our Greenview RN and everyone who came along to make it such a warm and memorable gathering! https://www.facebook.com/share/p/185h3Er7qJ/?mibextid=wwXIfr

𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗙𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝘁 𝗮 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 Grateful to have organised our third consecutive annual rice distribution, made possible by the generous donation of 400 packs of 5kg rice from Lotus Light Charity Society (Singapore). Together with our dedicated volunteers and community partners, we delivered this support to families and residents who needed an extra helping hand, easing daily expenses during challenging times. This initiative is a reminder that when communities come together with compassion and purpose, we can make a real difference in people's lives. My heartfelt thanks to Lotus Light Charity Society for three years of unwavering generosity, and to every volunteer who helped turn kindness into action. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1brSGTgpob/?mibextid=wwXIfr
