  • Corrigendum to “Measuring intra-arrest transport in out-of-hospital cardiac arrest: A methodological study of registry-compatible definitions” [Resuscitation 208 (2025) 110529] https://www.resuscitationjournal.com/article/S0300-9572(26)00297-2/fulltext?rss=yes The authors regret three typographical errors in the original publication, one in the abstract (results section) and two within Table 3 in the body of the manuscript. Within the abstract, the sustained ROSC definition was reported to have a sensitivity of 98.5% instead of the correct 94.9%. Similarly, within Table 3 the listed point estimate for the Sustained ROSC definition’s sensitivity was 98.5% instead of the correct 94.9%. Finally, the point estimate for the Any ROSC definition’s negative predictive value was also listed as 88.9% when it was 88.5%.

  • Supraglottic Airway Devices vs. Bag Mask Ventilation During Basic Life Support https://www.resuscitationjournal.com/article/S0300-9572(26)00298-4/fulltext?rss=yes In addition to measures that restore circulation, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) involves using strategies to enable gas exchange—the delivery of oxygen and clearance of carbon dioxide. This is facilitated by a patent airway, with gas exchange occurring via bag-mask ventilation (BMV), supraglottic airway device (SAD) or a tracheal tube.(1) Although tracheal intubation can be challenging, video laryngoscopy is making it easier and more efficiency.(2, 3) However, BMV and SAD have been seen as the key techniques to establish gas exchange in CPR.

  • Pulse Pressure as a Predictor of Increased 30‐Day Mortality in Acute Pulmonary Embolism https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/acem.70386?af=R Academic Emergency Medicine, Volume 33, Issue 8, August 2026.

  • Association of Emergency Physician Critical Care Training on Outcomes after Non-traumatic Out-of-Hospital Cardiac Arrest (OHCA) https://www.resuscitationjournal.com/article/S0300-9572(26)00311-4/fulltext?rss=yes In physician-staffed emergency medical services (EMS) systems, emergency physicians may differ in postgraduate specialist and critical care training. Whether such differences are associated with outcomes after out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) remains uncertain. We investigated the association between emergency physician qualification and outcomes after non-traumatic OHCA.

  • “Early Stratification of Risk for Poor Neurological Outcome After Cardiac Arrest Is Improved with Processed EEG Data” https://www.resuscitationjournal.com/article/S0300-9572(26)00312-6/fulltext?rss=yes Cardiac arrest (CA) is a leading cause of death and morbidity, with differing etiologies, CPR efficacy, comorbidities, and severity of organ damage.1–4 This variability makes it unlikely that a one-size-fits-all approach to temperature control will improve patient outcomes.2 Only limited data describe subsets of cardiac arrest survivors who could benefit from different approaches to temperature control based on early determination of the severity of brain injury.2,5,6 The 2025 guidelines for post-cardiac arrest care from the American Heart Association and European Resuscitation Council did not address early neurological risk stratification.

  • Arterial Blood Gas Parameters during Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Sustained Return of Spontaneous Circulation in Out-of-Hospital Cardiac Arrest: A Preplanned Secondary Analysis of the AMCPR Trial https://www.resuscitationjournal.com/article/S0300-9572(26)00313-8/fulltext?rss=yes Arterial blood gas analysis (ABGA) is not routinely performed during cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA), and is not recommended by current guidelines. This preplanned secondary analysis of the Augmented-Medication CardioPulmonary Resuscitation (AMCPR) trial evaluated whether intra-arrest PaO2 was associated with sustained return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC).

  • Hypoxia: the acid test for the neonatal heart!? https://www.resuscitationjournal.com/article/S0300-9572(26)00302-3/fulltext?rss=yes In this issue, Rettedal et al. provide insightful data on the relationship between umbilical arterial pH (UA-pH), heart rate (HR), and ventilation at birth.1 They performed a prospective, population-based cohort study at a tertiary Norwegian hospital between 2019 and 2021, including 3662 infants. Although newborns ≥28 weeks of gestation were eligible, the actual study population predominantly comprised more mature infants. Using dry-electrode electrocardiogram (ECG), first neonatal HR could be captured at 16 (median, IQR 11-30) sec after birth.

  • Coronary stenosis or acute occlusion? Endpoint choice in AI-based coronary triage after cardiac arrest https://www.resuscitationjournal.com/article/S0300-9572(26)00305-9/fulltext?rss=yes We read with great interest the Article of Andermatt et al. developing a score to identify relevant coronary artery stenosis following out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA).[1] Integrating artificial intelligence (AI)-based ECG interpretation into bedside decision-making for coronary angiography (CAG) is a fundamental direction in resuscitation science, as patients without ST-elevation on the post-ROSC ECG are readily not triaged for immediate CAG.[2] We would, however, like to raise three concerns that in our view constrain the score's intended use.
