We would like to address something important regarding the way reports and concerns are being submitted to English Fess. ‎ ‎First of all, we want everyone to know that criticism, feedback, and reports are absolutely allowed and appreciated. Reports help us notice things we may have overlooked, reevaluate our decisions, and improve the space we are trying to maintain together. We understand that Enggies have the right to express disappointment or frustration, especially when they feel that a situation was not handled properly. However, we also need to set a clear boundary regarding the way those reports are delivered. Recently, there have been multiple cases where reports were accompanied by harsh insults, slurs, terror, degrading and defamatory remarks, personal attacks, intimidation, or invasive behavior directed toward admins personally. Some reports were also sent through private chats, Anony Messenger bots, boards, and other unofficials in ways that crossed personal boundaries and affected the admins’ mental well-being. ‎ ‎Because of this, we would like to state clearly that reports containing personal attacks, derogatory language, harassment, or hostile behavior will unfortunately not be proceeded further. We are fully aware that our moderation is not perfect and we continue learning from situations that happen within the base. However, we also hope everyone can remember that the people behind English Fess are still human beings with limited emotional and mental capacity. We genuinely want English Fess to remain a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable space for everyone. We want to cooperate with Enggies, listen to concerns, and improve wherever we fall short. But maintaining that environment cannot happen through hostility alone. It also requires mutual respect, patience, and cooperation from all sides. ‎ ‎For that reason, we kindly ask everyone to submit reports only through @EnglishFessBot so they can be handled properly and fairly within the official moderation system. Accounts that continue engaging in uncooperative and abusive behavior are subject to immediate bans in order to protect the safety, privacy, and well-being of the English Fess’ admins and the base environment as a whole. Please understand that our limited capacity does not mean we are trying to avoid responsibility. We are trying our best to moderate a large base while still protecting the well-being and privacy of the people behind it. FURTHER EXPLANATION OF MEDIA WATERMARK GUIDELINES ‎✦ When inserting media, the watermarks must be clearly visible and positioned in a way that effectively prevents unauthorized use or theft of the media. While aesthetic considerations are understandable, watermarks should not be placed too small or in obscure areas. It is strongly recommended to position the watermark in the center or in another clearly visible area to ensure maximum protection of the inserted content.

FURTHER EXPLANATION OF MENFESS SPACING AND LIMITS ‎✦ Menfesses with the same or similar context are required to be spaced a few minutes apart. Repeated sending or spamming of identical or similar menfesses is strictly prohibited. ‎Anyone who violates will receive a maximum of three warnings. Continued violations beyond this limit may result in a permanent ban from the admin’s bot.

FURTHER EXPLANATION OF @ENGLISHFESS’ PROPER MANNERS IN SENDING & COMMENTING ON MENFESSES ‎✦ Any menfess that contains excessive negativity, hatred, anger, along with overly harsh and extreme curse words is not allowed. Everyone is encouraged to express thoughts and feelings in a constructive and respectful way. ‎✦ Menfess posts containing rhetorical or provocative content that may potentially lead to arguments, disputes, confusion, or discomfort within the base are strictly prohibited. All menfesses should be written in a clear form in order to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for everyone. ‎✦ Menfess posts that contain negative statements about other individuals, mention unrelated issues in the base, or present vague content without clear context that may cause confusion are strictly prohibited. English Fess is not intended for speculation or ambiguous discussions, as all menfesses must be clear, relevant, and conveyed in a respectful manner to ensure a constructive and safe environment. ‎✦ Those who intentionally provoke others, initiate arguments, or display rude or insensitive behavior towards others while commenting or interacting in the comment section may be subject to an immediate ban from English Fess. FURTHER EXPLANATION OF @ENGLISHFESS’ BOYCOTTING POLICY ✦ English Fess restricts the mention of boycotted products, brands, public figures, etc., that have affiliations/ties with Zionism in menfess submissions. Click here for a compiled list of boycotted products, brands, and/or public figures. ✦ The term affiliations/ties in the previous clause refers to any form of support, partisanship, or sentiment toward Zionism/Zionists. ✦ However, we will not restrict products with high urgency, those difficult to replace, or platforms used to spread awareness, such as electronic brands or social media platforms. ✦ If an individual (artist, public figure, influencer) has spoken publicly about their support for Palestine yet is affiliated with Zionist-linked products or franchises, it is still permissible to mention them. However, menfesses containing the boycotted products will remain disallowed. E.g.: Rachel Zegler has actively spoken about her support for Palestinians, yet she previously played a role in a Di*ney franchise. The mention of the actress is permissible, but the mention of the movie and her role will remain prohibited. ✦ English Fess acknowledges that boycotting is a personal choice. Therefore, the implementation of this policy is only applied to menfesses, as we aim to focus on the areas we can control. We will not implement penalties in the comment section, as we believe it is the responsibility of each individual.

ADJUSTMENTS TO BOYCOTTING POLICY: PUBLIC OPEN DISCUSSION. Hello, Enggies. To ensure a more effective and impactful boycott policy, we decided to hold an internal discussion to talk about possible adjustments regarding our restrictions of boycotted products on our menfess submissions. After several considerations and other suggestions that we received from multiple people, we’ve reached two standpoints (https://t.me/EnglishFess/450485) and made a poll (https://t.me/EnglishFess/450486) to reach a more concrete decision on this possible revision. To add more thorough explanation, here’s an example of the new rule if we were to adjust our boycott policy: 1) For an anime franchise such as Jujutsu Kaisen that has previously collaborated with McD, English Fess has fully restrict the mention of the anime itself as it may come across as promoting the on going collaboration back then. -> However, after several suggestions and criticisms—as well as to ensure that the boycotting policy will be more focused and effective—the adjustment mentioned will make it possible for the restriction to be lifted: ONLY IF the collaboration has ended. In this case’s context, Jujutsu Kaisen’s collaboration with McD has ended and both parties are no longer benefiting from the association. Therefore, restrictions of this anime will be lifted but menfesses mentioning the product collaboration will remain disallowed. This also applies to other franchises or public figures with similar situations.

POLITICAL RELATED MENFESS ✦ This type of menfesses is always allowed as long as they focus on spreading awareness, encouraging open discussions, or finding people to talk about these topics with. We believe staying silent about oppression is not the answer, but we encourage discussions to be informative and respectful. ✦ Avoid using harsh or inappropriate language when discussing these topics.
