An engaging "Hungry crocodile" game is a great way to revise irregular verbs quickly and effectively. You're on holidays in Africa. It's boiling hot! You decided to go swimming in the river but completely forgot that the rivers are full of hungry crocodiles. Hurry up and swim towards the river bank till the crocodile bites you. Each correct answer will get you closer to a safe river bank, but remember that each mistake will get you closer to the crocodile. Take a card and: - call the 2nd form of the verb - call the 3rd form of the verb; - call both the 2nd and the 3rd forms of the verb; - make up a sentence in Past Simple; - make up a sentence in Present Perfect. The set includes 3 boards, 2 counters (a boy and a girl), 105 cards with irregular verbs and a blank for creating your own tasks. The file contains the detailed instructions of the game and some extra ideas. Grab it in the comments.

It is a fantastic tool for breaking the language barrier, encouraging children to actively use synonyms and build descriptive sentences. The player must explain the animal shown at the top of the card to the class or their team. The main challenge is that they cannot use the taboo words listed right below it! For example, when explaining a panda, you cannot say: bamboo, China, black, bear, cute. What skills do we practice? - Spontaneous speaking skills: Students learn to bypass difficult words and explain concepts through definitions ("This animal lives in the forest and likes to eat green grass ..."). - Vocabulary: Topic-related associations, habitats, body parts, and animal habits. - Grammar: Descriptive structures like "It is an animal which ...", "It lives in ...", and "It can ...".
