Additionally, important notes on Head trauma for those who study from the summary: 1) A CT scan without contrast is the initial diagnostic test for head trauma It is normal in DAI (diffuse axonal injury ) so MRI in this case is more sensitive 2)Steroids are contraindicated in head trauma 3) Crash triad (Cushing’s)is a late sign of increased ICP: Hypertension, Bradycardia, and irregular respirations 4) Don’t forget to memorise post-concussion syndrome: last slide in the lecture 5)Cerebral Angiography is the confirmatory gold standard for brain death 6)Uncal herniation causes an ipsilateral fixed dilated pupil due to CN III compression, leading to anisocoria
