Some people want financial freedom But the truth is, most people are not building the habits that create wealth They are working hard every month, earning salary, hustling daily, but all the money is spent And this is why many people remain stuck financially for years Because income alone rarely changes your life Ownership does This is one thing the wealthy understand very well They own businesses They also own assets that keep growing even while they sleep When you buy shares in good companies, you are no longer just a consumer. You become an owner and over time, as those companies grow bigger, your money grows with them. This is how many people globally have built wealth quietly for decades. Not through betting Not through Ponzi schemes Not through waiting for one miracle breakthrough but through consistent investing Sadly, many Nigerians avoid investing because nobody taught them properly Some people think the stock market is gambling. Others are scared because they have heard stories of scams But buying shares is completely different from gambling Investing in the stock market is simply putting your money into businesses with long-term growth potential This is exactly why I created Stock Market Money A beginner-friendly class designed to help everyday people understand investing the simple way You will learn: - How the stock market works - How to avoid common mistakes - How to identify good companies - How to start building long-term wealth gradually even with small capital. No complicated grammar or unrealistic promises Just practical financial education that can change your mindset and your future Because years from now, the people who started investing early will most likely be in a completely different financial position. The best time to start learning was 5 years ago. The next best time is now Register now for Stock Market Money. 👉🏼 moneylessons247.com/smm
Last month was bloody in the Nigerian stock market By "bloody," I mean the experience of many investors—especially those who only discovered the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NGX) within the last 18 months. For them, June was probably the first time they experienced a significant market correction The NGX began an impressive bull run towards the end of 2024 and maintained that momentum throughout much of 2025. Many companies delivered returns that few people expected As prices continued to rise, conversations about Nigerian stocks exploded across social media Suddenly, everyone wanted to talk about the NGX People who had never invested before opened brokerage accounts Friends started recommending stocks to friends Some people even invested simply because they didn't want to miss out That's what usually happens during a bull market Then Came June... June didn't just slow the market down It reminded investors that markets don't move in one direction forever Prices began to fall Portfolios turned red The excitement faded Almost overnight, the conversations about Nigerian stocks reduced drastically Some investors even deleted their investment apps because they couldn't bear looking at the *unrealized* losses in their portfolios That reaction isn't unique to Nigeria It happens in every market around the world One thing I've observed over the years is this: When prices are rising, people become overconfident - they invest aggressively Some even borrow money or invest funds they'll need in the short term because they believe prices will continue to go higher Then, when prices begin to fall... Fear replaces excitement The same people who couldn't stop buying suddenly stop investing completely Some even sell quality investments at a loss out of panic What they tend to forget is that volatility is the beauty of the stock market Question for you; did you panic sell or you bought more stocks in June? Last year, I asked myself a simple question "If I could go back ten years, what would I tell my younger self?" The answer wasn't... "Work harder." It wasn't... "Start a business earlier." It wasn't even... "Invest in the stock market." It was *Read Books* And that is because every costly financial mistake I have made in life came from something I didn't know And almost every good financial decision I made later came from something I learned from a book That's why I'm passionate about the ML Book Review It's not just about discussing another bestselling book It's about discovering ideas that help us make better decisions with our money, our careers, our businesses, and our lives Every other Sunday, we come together to learn, question, and challenge our thinking Sometimes one sentence from a book sparks an idea worth millions. Sometimes one discussion helps someone avoid a mistake that could have cost them years You don't have to be an avid reader. You don't even have to finish the book Just show up Because the quality of your life is heavily influenced by the quality of your thinking And one good book has the power to upgrade both. I'll love to see you this Sunday at ML Book Review Time is 7PM Register here; www.moneylessons247.com/br

One of the fastest ways to wreck your finances is by funding a lifestyle you simply cannot afford. Let's assume you earn ₦300,000 per month. Here are a few simple guidelines to help keep your finances in check: House Rent: Your annual rent shouldn't exceed three months' salary (after tax). At this income level, spending more than ₦900,000 a year on rent is financially unwise. Transportation: Using Bolt or Uber as your primary means of transportation may be convenient, but it's expensive. Stick with public transport for now. It's not forever, it's just for this season. Feeding: Eating out every day or relying heavily on fast food is a fast track to financial stress. Cooking at home is both cheaper and healthier. Internet: Spending more than ₦20,000 monthly on data for entertainment and social media is unnecessary. Let your data serve productive purposes first. Groceries: Fancy supermarkets like Ebeano and Market Square are convenient, but they aren't always the most affordable. Open markets often sell the same items at significantly lower prices. Entertainment: You don't need subscriptions to Netflix, Showmax, Prime Video, and every other streaming platform. Choose one and cancel the rest. Social Life: Going out every weekend drains your wallet faster than you realize. Once a month is enough until your income comfortably supports more. Shopping: Stay away from impulse purchases on Instagram and expensive malls. Visit the open market instead. Bend down and select. Asoebi: You don't have to buy every asoebi for weddings and celebrations. Wear what you already own. After the event, very few people will remember what you wore. Black Tax: At this stage you shouldn't bother about funding the living expense of others but if you must, then it shouldn't exceed 10% of your income The truth is, trying to look comfortable when your finances say otherwise is a trap and many people are stuck in it today Life is in phases, and men are in sizes. Know your current size and live accordingly Don't go about living like a king when you don't even have a room in the palace If you want to attain financial freedom, you must first master the discipline of living below your means It isn't deprivation...It's positioning Positioning for a brighter future To your financial sense #moneylessons247
