✨Late recap from the month of July✨ Caregivers of the NDCE family had the opportunity to convene in the perivous month to discuss on the topic of managing behavioural issues in neurodivergent children. Dr. Natenael, 3rd year psychiatry resident delivered an informative and engaging session emphasising on the need to understand the levels of behavioural changes and disturbances, how caregivers' responses need to be tailored accordingly and the importance of positive reinforcement to encourage good behaviour. Closing of the week with productivity ✅ Our organisation, Neurodiversity Center Ethiopia (NDCE) successfully conducted an introductory training on Neurodiversity and Neurodevelopmental conditions at two primary schools in Addis Ababa. We were able to deliver the training to a total of 55 primary school teachers at Wisdom Academy ( located around Addis sefer) and Zoma school ( located around Mekanisa). The sessions were very interactive and covered key topics including 📌Neurodiversity/ neurodevelopmental conditions 📌Rights of children with neurodevelopmental conditions 📌Inclusive education 📌 Importance of advocacy and creating awareness among peers of neurodivergent children We closed off our sessions by answering questions raised by teachers and addressing common myths and misconceptions regarding the area of neurodiversity. We would like to extend our appreciation to both schools towards their contributions for the smooth deliver of the training.
