It's not just to get stronger or become shredded; in fact exercise is a powerful tool for spiritual development What we do in Midgard (this physical realm) affects us in the other non-physical realms. This is why mental, physical and spiritual go hand in hand - you cannot maximize one without also maximizing the others. Well rounded monks and other spiritual people have a physically trained and healthy body too. If you do not have a strong body capable of intense efforts and sustained physical activity, there is a limit to the amount of etheric spiritual energy you can bring into your physical form. I have meditation sessions where I am dripping with sweat and panting due to the intensity of my posture holds, the breathholding of my rigorous chanting, and due to internally holding positions that decompress my spine and set my bones in the correct position to receive divine cosmic energies. This is not for the weak of body! Through physical effort we can: - Develop the physical body into a light body and efficient soul vehicle to manifest one's destiny When we and live with a ‘light’ body due to its strength and health, our destiny can be channeled to us all the more efficiently. Waking up with energy and motivation to pursue one’s goals is ultimately based on our health. - Increase health so as to quiet the mind Our souls inhabit the body, so they can be limited by things such as chronic pain, hunger, indigestion, anxious/depressive thoughts or other disease. It is hard to meditate when you have back pain because it’s weak, or you have an upset stomach from eating soy garbage. - Create a harmonious state between itself and the energy bodies which manifest in its form - Amplify awareness, increasing perception - Increase your willpower to pursue one's destiny I say all of these things in order for you to Rethink when you go to the gym or workout in any form. How can you make your exercise a prayer to the divine? How can you increase the power of your physical form to support your spiritual form? Consider these, and you will raise your vibration and thus your efforts and results.
