The Washington Post reports that an Iranian assassination threat prompted a secret presidential extraction from Turkey last month, with Trump secretly transferred from the legacy Air Force One to a C-32A while the White House publicly maintained that he was aboard Air Force One. Trump reportedly left the 747 via an airport catering truck and boarded the C-32A, which flew to Britain under the call sign “Reach 18.” The legacy Air Force One, carrying journalists and staff who believed Trump was aboard, served as a decoy and continued to Britain under the AF1 call sign. The immediate reason was a credible Iranian threat against Trump or his aircraft following renewed U.S. strikes on Iran. The new Qatari-provided 747-8 was reportedly a factor because it lacked some of the defensive countermeasures found on the legacy presidential aircraft. The particularly notable part is that the deception extended to some White House personnel and journalists, who were not told Trump had changed aircraft.

🟨🟤 • 🇺🇸 🔫 The U.S. Army abruptly removed the three-star general leading their forces in Europe, the branch confirmed Monday. Lt. Gen. Charles Costanza, who was leading V Corps, was removed from command. The Army did not provide the date of his removal or disclose a reason for his departure but confirmed in a statement that “the matter has been referred to the appropriate authority in accordance with Army regulations.” Brig. 🟨🔵 • 🇺🇸 🌶️🥑 Taylor Fresh Foods, parent company of Taylor Farms, is voluntarily recalling some products that include jalapeños because of worries about a possible salmonella contamination. The company said that it was pulling some products that include jalapeños, including salsas, guacamole, dips, burritos and pico de gallo, from stores shelves after learning that Coast Citrus Distributors was voluntarily recalling fresh jalapeños due to a potential salmonella contamination. The list of recalled products were distributed by Taylor Farms in multiple states with a “Best If Used By” date up to and including Aug. 16, 2026. The products were sold at stores including Kroger, Stop & Shop, Target, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's and Walmart. At least 345 people in 27 states have been sickened, with 36 hospitalizations reported, the CDC said last week. Minnesota and Colorado account for the vast majority of cases, with 110 cases each. Illinois has reported 30 cases and Kansas 13. The remaining states are Alabama, Arkansas, California, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, North Carolina, North Dakota, Nebraska, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin and Wyoming. • CDC NBC
