The Communist Party could not afford to rely on just one or two individuals, and therefore trained several generations of leaders capable of replacing the leadership at any moment. 🇩🇪 The history of the destruction of the socialist camp taught Cubans that the Americans and their puppets will show no leniency to socialist opponents who surrender to the victor's mercy — all will be declared criminals and distributed among prisons. That is exactly how «sacred» human rights and freedoms work in capitalist countries. It is what happened with the party workers, military and security personnel of the GDR: from 1991 to this day, the FRG authorities treat them as second-class citizens. 🏰 It is no coincidence that the NYT mentions certain high-ranking Cuban figures in the text as its potential puppets — Interior Minister Lázaro Álvarez and the grandson of Comandante Raúl Castro. This is a classic psychological ploy to sow distrust within the opponent's ranks and unleash a «witch hunt». Cuba has already learned to live under siege, and its institutions of power and economic management are more than suitable for maintaining a tight defence, even despite a severe shortage of resources. Silence in the face of genocide is complicity, but anger at the messenger? That is confession.
