  • I would like to apologize for linking the question of Palestine to domestic developments in Iran in several recent posts on this channel. As an Iranian, I was living through an exceptionally turbulent period—one unlike anything I had previously experienced. It was harrowing, unrelenting, and deeply challenging. Once I am able to regain my footing, I intend to resume—at least for my own understanding—the work of learning, writing, and speaking about Gaza and Palestine. As before, my attention will be directed primarily toward the reporting and analysis published by The Electronic Intifada. Why The Electronic Intifada? Because Ali Abunimah and his outstanding team write with moral clarity and intellectual honesty. They speak plainly, without equivocation, and they document, expose, and condemn oppression and injustice with the candor such realities demand. Most importantly, they do so by centering Palestinian voices, drawing on the work and testimony of Palestinian writers and journalists who speak from lived experience. Until I am able to return in good health, as always: ‼️DO NOT stop talking about Gaza

As soon as internet access in Iran returns to normal — after being shut down by the government for the third time, and now for more than 300 hours — this Telegram channel will resume its activity. I will continue to learn about Gaza and Palestine, to listen to their stories, and to speak about them whenever I can. And I will hope that by sharing good pieces from Electronic Intifada here, others will join me in learning about Palestine and speaking about it as well. Until then — if I survive both the government’s repression in Iran and the U.S.–Israeli bombs that shake the walls of our homes every day and kill dozens of Iranians — check electronicintifada.net and ‼️ DO NOT stop talking about Gaza.

  • 22 янв.1 590263

After nearly 340 hours of a state-imposed digital blackout by Iran’s government — the Islamic Republic — affecting almost 90 million citizens, this Telegram channel’s admin has finally regained access. But what has unfolded in Iran in recent days — including mass killings, the arrest of thousands, and above all, a total nationwide shutdown of communications — has drained my energy and motivation to continue this channel. Israel’s persistently genocidal state, over more than two years of genocide and ethnic cleansing in Palestine — especially in Gaza — has only in certain instances imposed direct and total communication blackouts on Gaza. Those hours and days were times of terror: unforgivable and unforgettable. Yet Iran’s government has now deliberately and systematically cut its own people off from the internet for fourteen consecutive days. Such conduct is unforgivable when carried out by a foreign occupying power against an indigenous population — and even more unforgivable when committed by a government against its own citizens. For this reason, this Telegram channel — fully aware that the genocide in Palestine is still ongoing, and that the Palestinian cause is more central and decisive than ever at national, regional, and global levels — is suspending its activity for an indefinite period. The Islamic Republic’s clear policy is to silence every voice except its own propaganda. And living in a country where people’s voices are being strangled by a criminal authority, speaking about Gaza has become, for me, exhausting and disheartening. Still, this channel’s content will remain online as an untouched archive — a record of parts of the Holocaust of our time, which began in October 2023 and continues today. It is also a small testimony to one Iranian’s effort to help amplify the voice of Palestine in a world that has grown numb to injustice. I thank everyone who followed this Telegram channel during this time. I also thank those who, by sharing this and other Palestine-related content, refused to allow crime and evil to become normalized. Above all, I thank the extraordinary and courageous Palestinian writers, and the Electronic Intifada team, who brought us voices of freedom, dignity, and love of life. For a brief time, I had the chance to republish and translate their work. The struggle against repression, mass killing, and the denial of human rights — in short, against death and destruction — is a lesson the world continues to learn from Palestine, no matter where we live or under whose power: Gaza, the United States, Egypt, Iran, or anywhere else. Continue following Electronic Intifada — electronicintifada.net. They are extraordinary and worthy of respect: from Palestinian writers to their guests, colleagues, contributors, and especially their brave editors. And as always: DO NOT stop talking about Gaza.

  • Here is a Brief Summary from a piece by Michael F. Brown, an independent journalist. His work and views have appeared in The International Herald Tribune, TheNation.com, The San Diego Union-Tribune, The News & Observer, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Washington Post and elsewhere. published by The Electronic Intifada on November 26, 2025. [ This article delivers a blistering examination of Sarah Hurwitz’s claim that Holocaust education has “backfired,” arguing instead that younger generations simply recognize—and refuse to excuse—the obscene reality of Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza. ⚠️ Note that this excerption is by no means a substitute for the original article.] 💡 Do the lessons of the Holocaust apply to Israel and “skinny Palestinians”? Sarah Hurwitz, the former Obama speechwriter, argues that Holocaust education in the US has “backfired” because young people now apply universal lessons about genocide to Israel – a conclusion she finds intolerable. Speaking to the 2025 Jewish Federations of North America assembly, she blamed a generational shift and especially social media for exposing Israel’s “carnage in Gaza” to young audiences. Journalist Spencer Ackerman noted the absurdity of her complaint that Holocaust education has taught a universal opposition to genocide. Hurwitz disparaged “global media” and claimed social platforms are shaped by “billions of people worldwide who don’t really love Jews,” wrongly conflating criticism of Israeli policy with antisemitism. She lamented that TikTok constantly shows “carnage in Gaza,” preventing “sane conversation” with younger Jews, and admitted, “I sound obscene” – a point the author affirms she got right. Hurwitz insists the Holocaust’s lesson is not “never again for anyone” but something particular to Jews and Israel, effectively excusing Israeli atrocities that younger people widely recognize as obscene. She has even suggested keeping young Jews off smartphones until senior year to shield them from images of Israeli violence. Her comparison of the far right’s imaginary “white genocide” to the left’s accurate description of Israel’s genocide in Gaza further muddies the waters. The article stresses that the Gaza genocide is affirmed by numerous experts, unlike the fabricated white-genocide trope. Despite CNN’s downplaying of Palestinian deaths, Bari Weiss’s influence at CBS News, Trump’s intimidation of students, and pro-Israel billionaires buying TikTok, the reality of Gaza remains visible. The Trump administration has also sanctioned Palestinian human rights groups documenting Israeli war crimes. I sound obscene Hurwitz unintentionally reveals the moral bankruptcy of Zionism’s insistence that empathy for the oppressed is a flaw. Younger generations see clearly what she tries to obscure. Mamdani mockery at JFNA The JFNA’s apparent misspelling of New York mayor Zohran Mamdani’s name, met with audience laughter, aligns with broader denial of the Gaza genocide. As the article concludes: Israel has lost massive support. Genocide will do that. ‼️ DO NOT stop talking about Gaza #English #Brief_Summary https://electronicintifada.net https://t.me/Persian_Electronic_Intifada

  • Here is an excerpt from a piece by Malak Hijazi, a writer based in Gaza, published by The Electronic Intifada on November 21, 2025. [ A stark look at Gaza’s newly imposed “yellow line,” this piece shows how a supposed ceasefire boundary has become an invisible wall—deadly, shifting, and deeply feared—trapping people away from their homes, their dead, and the land they ache to return to. ⚠️ Note that this excerption is by no means a substitute for the original article.] 💡 Trapped by yellow “When we see an adult suspect, we shoot. A child with a donkey, we arrest.” “Why not shoot a child with a donkey?” “Who should we shoot first: the child or the donkey?” This exchange reportedly took place between Tamir Yadai (the Israeli military’s deputy chief of staff), Itamar Ben-Gvir (Israel’s national security minister) and another government official during an Israeli security cabinet meeting in Tel Aviv on 23 October. “I follow the news of our area through the [Israeli] coordinator on social media channels, especially Facebook,” Abu Libda said. On the day after the ceasefire officially went into effect, for example, this person, who identifies as “Captain Abu Younes” posted a warning that anyone who enters the ten specific areas he listed risks death or arrest. “Those who love life,” he wrote, “do not go near these areas until further notice. Take care of your life.” Among those still displaced in central Gaza, unable to cross the yellow line back north, is Nasser Oukasha, 55, from Jabaliya refugee camp, much of which is now behind the yellow line. “During the [January] ceasefire, I went back to Sheikh Zayed. My house was destroyed, so I put up tents and stayed for about three months. Then they started dropping leaflets and shelling us again, so I fled to Bahloul [in Gaza City],” he said. “I reached Al-Yemen Al-Saeed Hospital,” he said. “A friend stopped me and told me there’s a yellow line now and it’s difficult to cross. So I turned back. I still can’t reach my neighborhood.” “The place is cramped, and there’s a water shortage. It feels like we’re trapped in a plastic bag. I just want to go back north. My heart aches for it.” “My house is destroyed, but I want to return to its rubble. That’s where my loved ones are, where my daughter was martyred.” “I have hope in God that I’ll go back. I’m scared this will become like 1948. They said, ‘We’ll go back, we’ll go back,’ and 72 years later, they never did.” “It’s really vague and worrying.” “I just hope I can return to my city and my neighborhood, and for one last time, say goodbye to my home.” ‼️ DO NOT stop talking about Gaza #English #Excerpt https://electronicintifada.net https://t.me/Persian_Electronic_Intifada
