There will be a meetup at Roger Williams Park's Food Truck Friday event on Friday, August 14, at 5 p.m. The address is 1000 Elmwood Ave, Providence, with the meeting spot being outside the carousel. You will have to park on the nearby roads and walk to the location. The event suggests parking at the Zoo and walking to the carousel because there are many more available spots there. WEBSITE: https://www.foodtrucksin.com/food-truck-friday-roger-williams-park-08-14-2026 Admission is FREE. Please plan to arrive early because the lines at each truck will grow very long very quickly. You may bring blankets and lawn chairs. They have very few tables available for everyone, so plan to eat standing up or sitting in a lawn chair or on a blanket. Fursuiters have appeared at this event in the past. If you plan to fursuit, please remember that there are no private changing areas or break spaces. https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/11401624/ FURsvp: https://fursvp.org/event/154/

TEXT IN LAST MESSAGE WAS CUT OFF DUE TO LENGTH: We are once again participating in ALS United Rhode Island's "Walk ALS Rhode Island" event to raise money for ALS research in memory of Tony "Dogbomb" Barrett. For those who do not know, Dogbomb was a furry from California who passed away in April 2019 after a year-long well-publicized battle with ALS. Since his diagnosis in March 2018, furries worldwide have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for ALS research and continue to do so today. This event will take place on the morning of Sunday, August 23, at Bryant University in Smithfield (1150 Douglas Pike). The walk will be on the running track next to Beirne Stadium. There will be plenty of parking. Registration check-ins will begin at 9:30 a.m. The walk itself starts at 11:00. We will have a tent for breaks and changing in and out of fursuit. Stay tuned for details and any developments. A team donation page has been set up for "Team Tony (Dogbomb)." If you intend to be there participating in the walk, you must register as a member of the team. There is a $10 registration fee which is also a donation. After that, you can hit up your friends and family to raise money under your name. If you are NOT going to be there, there are links to donate either directly to the team or to a team member. We are looking to get furries from all over to participate, so please spread the word on social media. Our current fundraising goal is $500 which could go up. This includes use of the lanes and shoe rentals. Anyone under the age of 16 who is attending any RI Furs meet must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who must stay in attendance at the meet at all times. REMINDER: The Slater Park furmeet and RI Furbowl events are taking place this Saturday at 3 and 6 p.m. respectively. Please see the pinned messages for details. The Furbowl will be back to the $2/$18 prices as before.
Due to rain in the weather forecast, the Rocky Point Park furmeet will be postponed to its rain date: the next day, Sunday, May 31, still taking place at 11 a.m. Please refer to the original post for details about the event.

Hello everyone! Are you ready for Pride? This year is especially exciting as we celebrate not only every amazing LGBTQIA+ individual in our community, but also the 50th Anniversary of Rhode Island Pride! This year’s theme, “We ARE the People,” could not be more fitting, and we hope you’ll come join us in celebrating everything it stands for. Below you’ll find the general event information and itinerary for the day. We’d also like to share a friendly reminder regarding a rule added last year. Due to the likelihood of high temperatures, the length of the parade route, and overall safety considerations, we ask that only partial suits be worn during the parade portion of the event. We can’t wait to celebrate with all of you and make this Pride one to remember!!!
