- 21 мар.‘Hakuna Matata’ ~ “no worries” in Swahili ~ isn’t just a phrase, it’s a feeling, a way of moving through life that touched me deeply over 30 years ago ~ living and working in Tanzania ~ and still makes me smile today 🥁 Yes, many know it from the movie ‘The Lion King’ 🦁 but in East Africa, ‘Hakuna Matata’ lives deeply in people’s hearts like a relaxed way of living ~ with effortless lightness it seems! ~ even when life clearly isn’t easy 😅 It’s a teaching I see so many African people embody in their genuine smiles and grounded grace ~ not to avoid any challenges, but to soften inside of whatever appears to be happening 👉🏽 to release the tension, the overthinking and the addiction to the perception of stress 😱😅 In TAO ~ and specifically the NEI DAN KUNG lineage I’m learning to represent ~ we aim for that same state the African people embody so playfully: we train ourselves by relaxing into peaceful awareness ✌️ We know we don’t lose real power by relaxing our body, breath and mind 👉🏽 we unlock it 🔐 The moment we truly relax ~ we become unstoppable 💥 The ancient KUNG FU techniques we teach in our TAO training programs are originally made to train warriors, not only focusing on strength, speed and discipline, its true mastery is found in being completely connected to our calm nature within 🐉 Being able to walk through a battle field ~ while staying deeply relaxed ~ augments our chances to see the bullets before they hit ⚔️ So let’s use these ancient methods in facing our worldwide challenges today! 🚀 More soon! - 21 нояб.Innocence is closely linked to wisdom and 👉🏽 one of the most underestimated human qualities 👈🏽 and yet, we all are born with an abundance of innate innocence ☀️ Gaining insight into what is innocence, means gaining more insight into ourselves, the people around us, and the state most of our world is in 🌍 In our culture, we rarely, if ever, think about it, but the loss of innocence is one of the most painful aspects of being human 😅 And we all lose innocence, constantly 🍂 Every (mini-)trauma, that is, every experience of powerlessness, no matter how seemingly small and ‘innocent’, causes a piece of innocence, a part of our ‘inner child’, to die, so to speak.. That, in itself isn’t so bad, it’s just that we don’t take the space and time to mourn that lost part of innocence in ourselves, we pretend nothing happened and simply carry on living 🌟 As best as we can, of course, because ‘just carrying on living’ is not really an option 👇🏿 On one hand, the loss of innocence is so painful, that we often have to ‘dampen’ the associated pain (read: do things to feel ‘better’), resulting in all sorts of self~destructive behavior⚡️ On the other hand, the loss of innocence creates the (unconscious) compulsion to seek new innocence, which 99 times out of 100 we seek outside ourselves, forgetting that innate innocence is who we are, and causing at least as much damage and pain to those around us..
