Dear Colleagues, The Board in its meeting held on 22nd May 2024 approved the financial results for the year ended 31st March 2024. The company has done exceedingly well during the year. The gross written premium increased by 8.3% to Rs.41,996 Cr as the company pursued its strategy of growth with profitability. The profit before tax increased by 16.1% to Rs.1,445 Cr. This increase was despite net catastrophic losses to the extent of Rs.794 Cr during the year. The PBT for the 4th quarter more than tripled to Rs.520 Cr compared to Rs.159 Cr for the same quarter last year. The solvency ratio remains healthy at 1.81x. The balance sheet remains strong with the net worth increasing from Rs.38,367 Cr in FY23 to Rs.44,704 Cr in FY24. We congratulate all New Indians for this excellent performance during a time characterised by multi-pronged challenges in the form of regulatory changes, intense competition and organizational restructuring. The market remains extremely competitive and the regulatory environment continues to evolve dynamically.
