﴿صُحُفٍ مُّكَرَّمَة﴾

Shaytaan convinces a person to abandon the Quran due to their shortcomings when the cure to their illnesses lies in holding firmly on to it.

I have not worked for the past 3 months properly becaue of issues at work. Whatever money I had has gone on bills and helping back home. "It will be said to the companion of the Qur'ān: 'Recite and ascend, and recite as you used to recite in the world, for your rank will be at the last verse you recite."

One of the greatest motivations for memorising the Quran and becoming from the companions of Quran is the immense reward promised on yawmul Qiyaamah. When the opportunity to perform new deeds has ceased, the people of the Quran will have a unique honour and a special virtue: a unique opportunity to ascend in the ranks of Jannah. Abdullah ibn Amr reported: The Prophet ﷺ said: "It will be said to the companion of the Qur'ān: 'Recite and ascend, and recite as you used to recite in the world, for your rank will be at the last verse you recite." وَءَاخَرُونَ ٱعْتَرَفُوا۟ بِذُنُوبِهِمْ خَلَطُوا۟ عَمَلًۭا صَـٰلِحًۭا وَءَاخَرَ سَيِّئًا عَسَى ٱللَّهُ أَن يَتُوبَ عَلَيْهِمْ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌ And [there are] others who have acknowledged their sins. They had mixed [i.e., polluted] a righteous deed with another that was bad.1 Perhaps Allāh will turn to them in forgiveness. Indeed, Allāh is Forgiving and Merciful. التوبة: 102 #آيات

And his heart was not content except with that (the Qur'an). Even if he made duʿā', he would suffice with only a sentence or two, then his soul would pull him back again to continue his recitation. Allah says: 'Whoever is occupied by the Qur'an and My remembrance from asking Me, I will give him better than what I give to those who ask.' This hadith, despite its weakness, contains an indication of a type of honour and virtue that Allah has granted to the Qur'an and to those who devote themselves to it and to His remembrance in general. 'The superiority of the Speech of Allah over all other speech is like the superiority of Allah Himself over His creation.' There is no comparison between the Creator and the created; likewise, there is no comparison between His Speech and the speech of anyone else.

When you stand with the Quran at night, and review it during the day, know that you are thanking Allah in the upmost form. May Allah make us from his grateful servants and protect us from being among the heedless and ungrateful.

Ustadh Abdurahman Hassan حفظه الله mentions another wording of this hadeeth. 'فنام عنه بالليل ولم يعمل فيه بالنهار' Subhanallah, truly it is terrifying. May Allah protect us from the punishments of the grave.

Samura Ibn Jundab رضي الله عنه narrated: The Prophet ﷺ said in his narration of a dream that he saw: 'أَمَّا الَّذِي يُثْلَغُ رَأْسُهُ بِالْحَجَرِ فَإِنَّهُ يَأْخُذُ الْقُرْآنَ فَيَرْفِضُهُ وَيَنَامُ عَنِ الصَّلاَةِ الْمَكْتُوبَةِ‏' ‘As for the one whose head was being crushed with a rock, he was one who learns the Quran and then abandons it, and sleeps through the prescribed prayers.’ [صحيح البخاري ١١٤٣] Ibn Hubayrah رحمه الله said: ‘Abandoning the Quran after memorising it is a grave offence because it suggests that he has found something (better) that necessitated abandoning it. So when he abandoned the most noble of things (the Quran), he was punished through (the crushing of) the noblest part of his body, the head.’ [فتح الباري ٤٤٤/١٢]

"من زكاة حفظ القرآن ، تلاوته في جوف الليل" ‏لايُتَصور أن حافظًا للقرآن ليس له حظ من قيام الليل ولو بعشر آيات تخرجه - تلك الليلة - من وصف الغفلة.
