Forwarded: al-Suyooti said regarding the Quran: [لا تزيده تلاوته إلا حلاوة، ولا ترديده إلا محبة، ولا يزال غضًّا طريًّا، وغيره من الكلام، ولو بلغ في الحسن والبلاغة مبلغه؛ يُمل مع الترديد، ويعادى إذا أعيد، لأن إعادة الحديث على القلب أثقل من الحديد. وكتابنا بحمد الله يُستلذ به في الخلوات، ويُؤنس به في الأزمات] Reciting it more only increases the sweetness, and repeating it only increases the love. It remains fresh and appealing, while other discourse - no matter how beautiful or eloquent they may be - become boring when repeated and annoying when replayed, for listening to the same speech again and again is harder than iron. But, alhamdulillaah, our Book is a source of joy when alone and a source of comfort in times of difficulty. [Mu'tarak al-Aqran 1/184]

Then how will you protect yourselves, if you disbelieve, from a Day that will make children grey-haired? The sky will be split apart because of it. Allah's promise is certain to be fulfilled.

  • If you want to rectify your heart, or want to see betterment in your child Or companion or whoever it is for that matter, then direct them to places where the Qur’an is recited and direct them to be in the company of the Qur’an. Allah will then cause them to become better, whether they are willing to it or not. -Imam ash-Shafi (رحمه الله) Hilyat al-awliya’

  • One of the greatest motivations for memorising the Quran and becoming from the companions of Quran is the immense reward promised on yawmul Qiyaamah. When the opportunity to perform new deeds has ceased, the people of the Quran will have a unique honour and a special virtue: a unique opportunity to ascend in the ranks of Jannah. Abdullah ibn Amr reported: The Prophet ﷺ said: "It will be said to the companion of the Qur'ān: 'Recite and ascend, and recite as you used to recite in the world, for your rank will be at the last verse you recite."

  • ﴿ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ لَا يُصِيبُهُمْ ظَمَأٌ وَلَا نَصَبٌ وَلَا مَخْمَصَةٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ﴾ That is because they do not suffer any thirst, fatigue, or hunger in the cause of Allah... ﴿وَلَا يَطَئُونَ مَوْطِئًا يَغِيظُ الْكُفَّارَ﴾ ...nor do they tread upon any ground that enrages the disbelievers... ﴿وَلَا يَنَالُونَ مِنْ عَدُوٍّ نَّيْلًا﴾ ...nor do they inflict any loss upon an enemy... ﴿إِلَّا كُتِبَ لَهُم بِهِ عَمَلٌ صَالِحٌ﴾ ...except that a righteous deed is recorded for them because of it. ﴿إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُضِيعُ أَجْرَ الْمُحْسِنِينَ﴾ Indeed, Allah never allows the reward of those who do good to be lost.

One person abandoned memorising the Qur'an because they claimed their tajwīd was weak. Another abandoned it because they said they were unable to live by it. Another left it because they believed they had no time. Yet another abandoned it because they thought that, while committing sins, trying to memorise the Qur'an would make them a hypocrite. These are the whispers and counsels of Shaytaan- so beware of them. Turn wholeheartedly to the Qur'an, be sincere for the sake of Allah, and receive glad tidings of goodness and openings (blessings and divine facilitation) that will come to you from places and in ways you could never have expected.

Ma'ruf, 1992, Vol. 7, p. 265.] Once a wise man said, "If you spend one day on other than carrying out justice, performing obligatory worship, achieving some gain, praising the Lord, establishing something good or acquiring knowledge, you have been ungrateful to your day and have wronged yourself." When Allah Responded to the Complaint of a Woman in Sūrah al-Mujādilah: A Timeless Lesson from Khawlah bint Thaʿlabah! My dear brothers and sisters, there are moments in life when a person feels that no one truly hears him. He may carry a burden too heavy to describe, a grief too deep for words, or a pain that even those closest to him cannot fully comprehend. Yet the believer possesses a certainty that transforms every hardship: there is never a moment in which his Lord does not hear him. Reflect upon the moving story of Khawlah bint Thaʿlabah (may Allah be pleased with her), narrated by the Mother of the Believers, ʿĀʾishah (may Allah be pleased with her) and authenticated by Imam al-Albānī in Ṣaḥīḥ Ibn Mājah (no. 1691). After spending her youth with her husband, bearing him children and dedicating her life to him, he pronounced ẓihār upon her (a pre-Islamic practice whereby a husband declared his wife to be like the back of his mother, thereby treating her as unlawful for him like his mother). With a heart weighed down by sorrow, she came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, pouring out her distress before him and saying, “O Messenger of Allah, he consumed my youth, and I bore him many children. Then, when my age advanced and I could no longer bear children, he pronounced ẓihār upon me.” Finding no refuge except her Lord, she repeatedly turned her complaint to Him, saying, “O Allah, I complain to You.” This conversation took place inside the house of the Prophet ﷺ. The Mother of the Believers, ʿĀʾishah (may Allah be pleased with her), was present nearby. Despite being within the same house and close enough to hear Khawlah’s voice, some of her words escaped ʿĀʾishah because of how softly she spoke. Yet the words that escaped the hearing of the one nearest to her were heard in their entirety by Allah, the Lord above the seven heavens. Before Khawlah had even finished her complaint, Jibrīl descended with revelation: ﴿قَدْ سَمِعَ اللَّهُ قَوْلَ الَّتِي تُجَادِلُكَ فِي زَوْجِهَا وَتَشْتَكِي إِلَى اللَّهِ ۚ وَاللَّهُ يَسْمَعُ تَحَاوُرَكُمَا ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ سَمِيعٌ بَصِيرٌ﴾ “Indeed, Allah has heard the statement of she who disputes with you concerning her husband and complains to Allah. And Allah hears the dialogue between you both. Verily, Allah is All-Hearer, All-Seer.” (Sūrah al-Mujādilah, 58:1) Witnessing this remarkable event, ʿĀʾishah (may Allah be pleased with her) exclaimed: «تَبَارَكَ الَّذِي وَسِعَ سَمْعُهُ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ، إِنِّي لَأَسْمَعُ كَلَامَ خَوْلَةَ بِنْتِ ثَعْلَبَةَ، وَيَخْفَى عَلَيَّ بَعْضُهُ» “Blessed is the One whose hearing encompasses all things. Indeed, I could hear the speech of Khawlah bint Thaʿlabah, yet some of her words were hidden from me.” How profound is this lesson for every believer. If Allah heard the quiet complaint of a distressed woman inside a house in Madinah and preserved it forever in His Book, then what of your supplication? What of the duʿāʾ you whisper in the depths of the night? What of the tears that fall when no eye sees you? What of the plea that never leaves your lips but remains imprisoned within your heart? Allah hears it all. No voice is too low, no language too unfamiliar, no sorrow too hidden, and no servant too insignificant for His perfect hearing. Therefore, fill your heart with certainty in Allah’s beautiful Name, As-Samīʿ (the All-Hearing). Know that every supplication reaches Him, every whisper is heard by Him, and every sigh of the heart is known to Him. When this magnificent attribute becomes truly alive within your heart, loneliness gives way to tranquillity, anxiety is replaced with certainty, and your dependence upon the creation diminishes. You no longer seek relief through the pity of people before seeking it from your Lord, for you know that the One who heard Khawlah hears you as well. So complain to Him before you complain to the creation, raise your hands to Him before extending them to the people, and pour your heart out to Him with complete certainty, for no sincere supplication is ever lost with the One whose hearing encompasses all things.

"Frequent recitation of the Qur'an weakens your desire for sins. And this is something tangible that the people of the Qur'an feel. The more your recitation of the Qur'an increases, the less your desire for sins becomes. In fact, you may come to dislike sins and no longer desire them and this is one of the blessings of the Qur'an. So if you are struggling with a sin and are unable to leave it, then the most beneficial remedy for you is to increase your recitation of the Qur'an."

When you find an individual in this dunya who reminds you of Allah, increases your zeal in worship, motivates you to refine your character, and increases your emaan just by being around - then hold onto them with your molar teeth, for والله they are more valuable than mountains of gold. How would you handle a rare treasure that has been entrusted to you? You would hold it gently, trying your utmost best not to scratch it. You would choose to store it in the best and most safest place, whilst also checking on it regularly to make sure it's still okay. You would admire it and make dua for Allah to protect it and place barakah within it. So likewise, make dua for that believer, treat them as best as you can, check up on them regularly, appreciate them and thank Allah for the blessing of placing them in your life. 🤍
