The latest versions of IntelliJ IDEA are fast. Start is almost instant, even with huge projects, UI is immediately responsive and comparatively uncluttered. The overall feal is fast and lightweight. Surprisingly pleasant. It looks like VS Code and IntelliJ IDEA converged to the same point. The former got pretty heavy and somewhat clunky with all the plugins, while the latter got optimized and redesigned. In the end, I guess, only Sublime Text is the last true lightweight text editor still...
