When it comes to accuracy, I trust astrology more than Vastu. I have studied Vastu out of personal interest. When it comes to a job offer, according to me, the support of Saturn’s transit (Shani Gochar) and Dasha must be present. However, can we also look at job opportunities through Vastu? My argument here is that Vastu can complement the possibility of a job opportunity. For example, in a horoscope, when Saturn (the significator of profession) is connected with Jupiter, there could be an opportunity for employment. Similarly, from a Vastu perspective, if a storeroom (Saturn) is located in the North-East direction (Jupiter) of the house, it could indicate a job opportunity. Another example: if Saturn is connected with Venus, then from a Vastu perspective, if luxury items (Venus) are placed in the West direction (Saturn) of the house, it could indicate a source of income. # KARNA’S PREVIOUS BIRTH — SAHASRAKAVACHA, THE THOUSAND-ARMOUR DEMON Yes. According to this traditional account associated with the Mahabharata, Karna was not an ordinary human being. In his previous birth, he was Sahasrakavacha, a powerful demon. Here is the complete story: ### 1. Who was Dambhodbhava? Dambhodbhava was a demon and a great devotee of Surya, the Sun God. He performed severe penance to please Surya and received a remarkable boon. Do you know what the boon was? He would have 1,000 protective armours (kavachas) covering his body. To break each armour, an opponent had to perform 1,000 years of penance, and once an armour was broken, the person who broke it would die. It was an almost impossible boon. After receiving it, Dambhodbhava became known as Sahasrakavacha — the one with a thousand armours. Filled with arrogance, he began tormenting the gods and creating havoc. ### 2. His destruction by Nara and Narayana At the request of the gods, Lord Vishnu incarnated as Nara and Narayana, two divine sages who were performing penance at Badrikashrama. Their strategy was simple: One would fight while the other performed penance. Nara fought Sahasrakavacha for 1,000 years and finally broke one of his armours. But as soon as the armour was broken, Nara died. Narayana then used the power of his penance to bring Nara back to life. Now Narayana entered the battle while Nara began his penance. The process continued alternately. One after another, they broke 999 of Sahasrakavacha’s 1,000 armours. The battle continued for thousands of years. When only one armour remained, Sahasrakavacha became frightened and sought refuge with Surya. To protect his devotee, Surya concealed him within himself. When Nara and Narayana were about to curse Surya, the Sun God told them: “I will protect him as long as this one armour remains. But in his next birth, he will be born with this remaining armour.” ### 3. Sahasrakavacha became Karna According to this story, the person born with that final armour was Karna. This is why Karna was born with Kavacha and Kundala — the divine armour and earrings. They were considered the protection he received because of his devotion to Surya. And who were the ones destined to confront him in this birth? The same Nara and Narayana: Nara = Arjuna Narayana = Lord Krishna It was destined that Karna's final armour would eventually have to be destroyed by Arjuna. Therefore, Krishna devised a strategy through which Indra took Karna’s Kavacha and Kundala as a donation. Without removing his divine armour, defeating Karna would have been extremely difficult. Thus, although Karna is known as the son of Surya, this traditional account describes him as having a demonic origin from his previous birth. He was a great warrior, an extraordinary giver, a devoted worshipper of Surya and almost invincible. Yet, because of his pride and his association with Duryodhana, he ultimately chose to stand on the side of Adharma. #Maniraj_Kasaragodu
