Vacancy: Biomedical Engineering Assistant Intern Social by Akfa · Facility & Engineering Unit We are looking for a fourth-year Central Asian University student interested in developing a career in medical equipment, including ultrasound, X-ray, ECG, and laboratory systems. No previous work experience is required. You will receive on-the-job training under the supervision of an experienced biomedical engineer. Responsibilities: -Perform scheduled maintenance of medical equipment; -Prepare equipment for calibration and inspections; -Conduct initial troubleshooting; -Carry out minor repairs under an engineer’s supervision; -Assist manufacturers’ service engineers during maintenance visits; -Maintain service logs and equipment records; -Participate in equipment inventory; -Follow safety requirements and JCI/ISO standards. Requirements: -Basic knowledge of electronics and mechanics; -Ability to use a multimeter and hand tools; -Ability to read technical diagrams and documentation; -Basic Excel skills and attention to detail when maintaining records; -Pre-Intermediate English or higher for reading technical documentation; -Responsibility, accuracy, and willingness to learn. 🎓 Alumni Story: Iroda Abdullayeva For Iroda Abdullayeva, becoming a doctor has been a dream since childhood. When Central Asian University opened its doors, she saw an opportunity to turn that dream into a real path. During her clinical rotations in the 5th and 6th years, Iroda explored different specialties before discovering her passion for ophthalmology. Working alongside experienced doctors and mentors showed her how deeply ophthalmology can improve patients’ quality of life. Today, Iroda is an Ophthalmology Resident at AKFA Medline University Hospital, where she continues developing her clinical skills through patient examinations, diagnosis, and treatment planning. 🎓 Alumni Story: Shakhzodakhon Khodjaeva From a Medical School graduate at Central Asian University to a Youth Programme Specialist at UNFPA Uzbekistan, Shakhzodakhon Khodjaeva’s journey shows that medicine can go far beyond the hospital. After graduating from CAU in 2025, she began working on youth-focused public health initiatives, coordinating around 600 volunteers and delivering training on reproductive health, HIV prevention, leadership, and public speaking. During her clinical rotations, one patient experience changed her perspective on medicine. She realized that some of the most important work in healthcare happens before a patient ever reaches the hospital — through prevention, education, and community engagement.
