These days, making money appears very easy. Let me show you the formula everyone talks about. Get a product idea. Create the product. Set up a funnel. Connect it to ads. Simple, right? And the truth is, it actually is. There’s no mystical formula behind it. Yet something interesting keeps happening. Thousands of people learn this exact same model… But only a small percentage ever produce meaningful results. Why? Why do two people learn the same strategy, follow the same steps, and still end up with completely different outcomes? Because success is not purely a knowledge problem. It is largely a human dynamics problem. Let me explain. If I sat in front of a camera right now to sell you an idea, I could most likely do it without rehearsal. Most of my content is unscripted. I simply speak. To me, it feels natural. But for another person, recording a simple five-minute video could take hours. Multiple takes. Multiple retakes. Doubt. Overthinking. At first glance, you might say: “Joshua is just experienced. He has done it for years.” And yes, that is partly true. But there is something deeper at play. Every individual operates with a unique mix of: • personality • cognitive bias • exposure • confidence • risk tolerance • internal belief systems All of these invisible factors shape how someone executes knowledge. And execution is where results are born. Let me give you a practical example. Imagine two entrepreneurs. Person A wants to launch a digital product but has no money for ads. Instead of waiting, they think differently. They design a system to generate the first audience organically, through partnerships, community, content, or distribution. Within weeks, they build traction. Eventually, that traction generates the capital needed to run ads. Now they scale. Person B faces the same situation, no money for ads. But their response is different. They say: “I’ll start when I have £200 to run ads.” Weeks pass. Months pass. Nothing starts. Same knowledge. Different mental response. Different outcome. This is why results are first mental before they are tactical. Your reaction to knowledge determines whether knowledge produces results. And that reaction is shaped by four powerful forces: Your circumstances Your exposure to possibilities Your mental configuration Your cognitive biases These forces quietly influence how you interpret every opportunity. So when someone says: “Just follow this strategy.” What they often forget is that strategy still passes through the filter of the human mind. And the mind determines whether action happens or excuses appear. So if your results are not yet where you want them to be, pause before assuming you need more knowledge. Often, the issue is not knowledge. It is mental alignment. Real growth begins the moment you adjust how you respond to opportunity, difficulty, and uncertainty. In 2017, I built my first commercial software. It paid me ₦250,000. All I cared about was one thing: “Does it work?” It was a simple web app that showed students’ school fees status when a QR code was scanned. That was all that mattered to me: make it function, get it live, get paid. I never thought about: What happens when 100,000 people use it at once? How can I reduce the response time to 200ms? Can the data be structured for deeper analytics or commercial insights? None of that crossed my mind. Fast-forward to today… I’m building a product where these are the only things I think about. Scalability. Optimization. Data efficiency. System resilience. And it hit me when you start, your goal is functionality. As you grow, your obsession becomes scalability. That’s the same pattern life follows. At the beginning, you just want things to work. But as you grow, you start asking deeper questions about how it works, why it works, and how it can work better. Your growth expands your curiosity. Your maturity refines your focus. And your level of awareness determines the level of questions you start asking. The lesson: Growth doesn’t just change your results; it changes what you pay attention to, and what you pay attention to impacts how far you can go on a path.
