‼️ FAQ – Airdrop from Common Project to AZERO Holders ‼️ ❓ What is happening ❓ Aleph Zero Foundation refused to order any additional works from Cardinal Cryptography, the main developer behind the entire project. Adam Gągol left the foundation board. Cardinal Cryptography invests its own funds to further work on Common as a new, separate project. ❓ What is changing at Common❓ This is a complete reset with a new project, new funds, and new leadership. Here’s what’s happening: ➡️ New leadership: We are implementing a completely new leadership structure, cutting all ties and dependency on the Aleph Zero Foundation and old project leadership: 👉 Adam Gągol takes leadership of Common project and its strategic direction 👉 Matt Niemerg and Antoni Żółciak will not be a part of the new leadership. 👉 Adam will appoint a new leadership team for Common in the coming days. ➡️ Independent funding: Cardinal Cryptography is fully bootstrapping Common with its own substantial capital reserves. This financial independence allows us to make this clean break and ensures immediate and long-term sustainability without relying on direct market sales of tokens in the foreseeable future. We also plan a strategic fundraising in the coming months to further bolster our resources. ➡️ Clear vision: Common as the Privacy Framework: We have a sharpened, singular focus on developing Common as the leading general privacy infrastructure. This clear vision provides a promising outlook for future integrations and a wide range of consumer applications, including mobile and web. ❓ Why a new airdrop ❓ Common is becoming a new project funded by Cardinal Cryptography, and with entirely new token. We're allocating a portion of this new token to the AZERO community in appreciation of your support up to this point. ❓ What if my AZERO is on a CEX ❓ Token distribution depends on the exchange. We're working with them to include as many users as possible, but the final decision lies with each individual CEX. ❓ Is staked AZERO included ❓ Yes. All staked AZERO was included in the snapshot. What happens next is outside our control. ❓ When was the snapshot ❓ May 23, 2025, at 11:00 AM CEST (on both L1 and L2). ❓ Can I sell AZERO now ❓ The snapshot has already been taken. You can now do whatever you feel is best with your AZERO. ❓What about validators ❓ Validator stakes were included in the snapshot. We hope validators will join the Common community and support our future decentralization efforts. ❓ What’s the status of the Aleph Zero Foundation ❓ Common is a new project funded by Cardinal Cryptography. We can’t control what the Aleph Zero Foundation does in the future. ❓ What is the tokenomics of the new token ❓ Tokenomics is something that requires careful planning and a lot of nuance. One thing remains clear: the new token will take a central role in the economy of Common. We will be informing you about the details in due course.
