overall it’s definitely on IRI that people have to do things like this but it just gets to a point thats unbearable sometimes
my problem with iranians who have immigrated is the personal narratives they try to sell to others in an effort to feel better about their own choices and depressions or whatever they’re dealing with. acting like we need to give them a medal for being brave enough to leave this place is insane, your life had the privileges and opportunities to leave. no one’s blaming you but it is entirely on you and if its hard its part of your decision genuinely. and don’t get me started on the way they start posting about “no way back home” or “theres no home left to return to” while having parents and siblings here @1&:9:&.9: like it’s okay to not want to come back but you are NOT in exile it’s fundamentally a different situation. and my last qualm is how they imply theres nothing left in iran not just for them but in general, talking about this country like a failed project or scorched earth when millions of people are studying, working, living and falling in love here like you left. you left and iran’s still standing albeit very weak and very exhausted
weather so good I have faith in life and humanity again
