This strength has extended into related proxies, with $CAKE standing out as the key beneficiary in recent desk flows over the weekend. - September 3000/4000 #ETH call spreads have traded in decent size over recent sessions, with forward vol ticking higher in both majors into the 31 July expiry buckets. - This aligns with event risk around the upcoming tariff deadlines (though few remain) and this week’s FOMC meeting. - I expect the Fed to monetary policy unchanged on Wednesday, in line with consensus and current pricing and focus will shift to Powell’s commentary. - Current data likely prevents the Fed from firm commitments, but Powell may use the conference to to keep the door open for a potential cut in September - an outcome currently 62% priced. - One tail risk that seems underappreciated is a rebound in the U.S. dollar. - Much of the recent strength in hard and digital assets has ridden on the back of a steady decline in the DXY.
