це нічого, що я відчуваю самотність. поки я живу, дерева шепотітимуть про те, що і це мине. а пташки, ставши моїми друзями, розкажуть про краї, де немає снігу. їм я хоча б вірю. як і в те, що я доживу до весни.
Sometimes it seems that one must seek freedom. However, for most of one's life, a person strives for predictability. Consciousness continuously composes a world of repetitions. Familiar routes, faces, sounds, colors, morning rituals and one's own thoughts. This is how an internal map of reality is built. Every change tries to change the usual route, to rewrite the usual algorithm. This often feels like a threat and internal resistance. This happens not because this change is dangerous, but because the usual pattern is destroyed. The most amazing thing is that a person can get used to almost anything. Even to what makes them chronically unhappy. The usual is not always good, but always recognizable and understandable. To stay in this place because it is familiar. Everything else is unknown. To be in a mode of saving energy, to live according to the same scenario. Each new step takes more energy than it seems. The most difficult struggle in this case is to destroy one's own tendency to return to where everything is foreseen. And then there is a movement towards freedom. It does not begin with overcoming fear, but from the moment when the permission of this fear to determine the boundaries of our world ends. Every question to oneself. Every new step. A new thought and action. All this destroys the old pattern and forms a new one. A small step into the unknown to get out of the vicious circle.

And once the storm is over, you won’t remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. You won’t even be sure, whether the storm is really over. But one thing is certain. When you come out of the storm, you won’t be the same person who walked in. That’s what this storm’s all about. Haruki Murakami, Kafka on the Shore
Melancholia (in Burton's scheme) is the obvious counterpart of acedia. Melancholia was associated with earth, pointing to that personality that is meditative, somber, thoughtful, prone to reflection. It is important to note that by this time no moral or intellectual quality was associated with melancholia or with any of the other temperaments (choleric, sanguinary, phlegmatic). They were seen to represent basic emotional potentials. To suffer melancholia was to suffer from a rectifiable imbalance > an imbalance of energy, as Ayurveda or Chinese medicine might put it.

It is only necessary to know that love is a direction and not a state of the soul. If one is unaware of this, one falls into despair at the first onslaught of affliction. Whose soule remains ever turned toward God though the nail pierces it finds themself nailed to the very center of the universe. It is the true center; it is not the middle; it is beyond space and time; it is God.
Start seeing everything as God, But keep it a secret. Become like a man who is awestruck And nourished, Listening to a Golden Nightingale Sing in a beautiful foreign language While God invisibly nests Upon its tongue. Hafiz, Who can you tell in this world That when a dog runs up to you Wagging its ecstatic tail, You lean down and whisper in its ear, «Beloved, I am so glad You are happy to see me. Beloved, I am so glad, So very glad You have come».
