What is ViewBinding in Sketchware Pro? ViewBinding is a feature that automatically generates a binding class for each of your XML layout files. This helps you access your UI elements directly, without using findViewById(). For example: main.xml → MainBinding _drawer_main.xml → DrawerMainBinding These are automatically generated and can be accessed using the binding variable inside your activity or fragment. How Sketchware Pro Converts Layout IDs Sketchware Pro uses a simple rule to convert your XML IDs into ViewBinding variable names: If an ID starts with an underscore (_), the next character becomes uppercase. Every underscore in the ID signals the next word’s first letter to become uppercase. Numbers in IDs remain unchanged. Examples: XML ID Becomes in Binding _test_Test → binding.TestTest M_textview1 → binding.M_Textview1 textview1 → binding.textview1 _main_drawer_layout → binding.MainDrawerLayout Click 3 dot → Show Source Code → Check Binding Classes for quick checks ⚙️ Important Notes: You don’t need to manually write "binding." when using blocks.
