Maybe people aren't intimidated by the magnitude of your big brain ideas. Maybe you just act like a dumbass in public and people don't want to be associated with you because it makes them look bad.

In ancient times, the cynics were people who stopped bathing and started wearing the worst clothes to prove how much they rejected worldliness. "Cynic" means "dog-like" and it's fitting because cynics are people who enjoy offending polite society by acting like subhumans because they think it’s liberating. If you tell a cynic that their teehee trolling bullshit isn’t worth anything, they think you’re telling them to not pursue virtue because they have constructed virtue as the flouting of societal norms. My favorite part in Thus Spake Zarathustra is "Flies in the Marketplace" when the protagonist gets bullied at the mall for being an annoying dork and then runs away to the woods where he convinces himself that he has no charisma because he's actually the smartest person in the world who can't be appreciated by lesser minds. Maybe he just smelled like rancid body odor and had bad breath.
