The Virtue of Jumuʿah According to the Salaf & Its Hour of Answered Duʿāʾ ⏳ Saʿīd ibn al-Musayyib (رحمه الله) said: “Friday, to me, is better than a voluntary Ḥajj. Fatḥ al-Bārī (1/276) Imām Ibn al-Qayyim (رحمه الله) said: “Friday is a day of worship, and among the days, is like the month of Ramadan among the months. And the hour of response (ساعة الإجابة) it is like Laylat al-Qadr in Ramadan.” Zād al-Maʿād (1/398) The Prophet ﷺ was also asked: “O Messenger of Allah, tell us about Friday — what goodness does it contain?” He replied: “On it are five distinct events: 1. On it Ādam was created, 2. On it Ādam was sent down to Earth, 3. On it Ādam died, 4. On it there is an hour (ساعة الإجابة) during which no servant asks Allah for anything except that He gives it to him, so long as he does not ask for something sinful or to sever family ties, 5. And on it, the Hour (of Judgment) will be established. There is not an angel near to Allah, nor a sky, nor an earth, nor a mountain, nor a stone, except that it is fearful of the Day of Jumuʿah.” Reported by Aḥmad and al-Shāfiʿī. A Believer’s Contentment: The Key to a Good Life 🔑 Shaykh Ibn ʿUthaymīn (رحمه الله) said: “You will not find anyone with more peace of mind, more openness of heart, or more tranquility in his heart than a believer, ever. Even if he is poor, the believer is the most content, the most at peace, and the most expansive in heart.” ‘Whoever does righteous deeds, whether male or female, while being a believer – We will surely grant them a good life, and We will surely reward them according to the best of what they used to do.’ (Surah al-Naḥl, 97) “So what is the good life?” The answer: The good life is openness of the chest and tranquility of the heart.
