Moreover, the state grants us financial support for our children to which I left my husband to manage. My question: For the time being, Is it permissible for me to remarry by way of an Islamic Nikkah without going to the council, (whilst waiting) for the civil divorce to get issued? I just want to know if the Islamic Nikkah in itself is permissible in this situation or if it’s not permissible? And we’re not sure on whether this is due to Ijtihād from them (seeing it to be permissible to do so), or if the government have obliged them to do this. Therefore, what’s the ruling on attending? Whereby perhaps if we didn’t attend (the lessons) we would miss out on a lot of good, while the Mashāyikh are few in number and the people of bigoted partisanship and trials and tribulations are many.
