“If the people of the Sunnah went with the prevailing madhhab (school of thought), they would have surely dispersed and weakened. But Allāh preserved them by their distinction from the people of contradiction.” [Shadharāt min al-Durūs, 6 Rabīʿ al-Ākhir 1447 AH] ——— Translated by: Umm Ayman al-Ḥaḍramiyyah Official English Channel: https://t.me/ShaykhYahyaEn Official Arabic Source: https://t.me/alhujuriu1/569 #ScholarlyQuotes_OfficialEnglishChannels

Do not feel secure from being envied for the Sunnah. (And) do not feel secure from being envied for knowledge, even if you possess nothing of worldly wealth. These are among the things for which the envious most envy, and which the shayāṭīn incite them towards.” [Friday Sermon, 28 Ṣafar 1447 AH] ——— Translated by: Umm Ayman al-Haḍramiyyah Official English Channel: https://t.me/ShaykhYahyaEn Official Arabic Source: https://t.me/alhujuriu1/499 #ScholarlyQuotes_OfficialEnglishChannels

  • When Is It Appropriate to Call Someone a “Shaykh”? Our Shaykh, al-ʿAllāmah and al-Muḥaddith, Yaḥyā al-Ḥajūrī—may Allāh preserve him—was asked: “Is widespread recognition required for the term ‘Shaykh’ to be applied to a person?” He answered: “If the people of knowledge have explicitly stated that concerning him, then there is no problem with this. Likewise, if he has become widely recognised as such, then there is no problem. Otherwise, I do not know what all this wrangling (pointless disputation) over [calling someone] ‘Shaykh’ is about…” We remind ourselves and our brothers—may Allāh grant them success—of the saying of the Prophet ﷺ: “O Allāh, grant my nafs its taqwā and purify it; You are the best from those who purify it. You are its Walī (Guardian) and its Mawlā (Master).” Narrated by Muslim, Aḥmad, ʿAbd ibn Ḥumayd and al-Nasāʾī, from Zayd ibn Arqam—may Allāh be pleased with him. • Do Not Let Shayṭān Distract You From the Qurʾān The eminent scholar, Shaykh Yaḥyā ibn ʿAlī al-Ḥajūrī—may Allāh, Most High, preserve and protect him—said: These pieces of advice are for all of us. We all complain to Allāh, Mighty and Majestic, about the distractions and temptations of Shayṭān concerning the Qurʾān, let alone other matters. What most distracts a person from the Qurʾān is anxiety, problems, and preoccupations which Shayṭān piles upon you in order to cause the Book of Allāh to slip away from you. What is the blessing of archery compared with the blessing of the Qurʾān? If abandoning archery is ingratitude, then what would abandoning and forgetting the Qurʾān be? From his lesson on Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī: Chapter on Memorising the Qurʾān and Reviewing It. ——— Translated by: Umm Ayman al-Haḍramiyyah Official English Channel: https://t.me/ShaykhYahyaEn Official Arabic Source: https://t.me/sh_yahia_duroos/14118?single

  • Sincerity to Allāh Our Shaykh, Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān Yaḥyā ibn ʿAlī al-Ḥajūrī —may Allāh preserve him— says: “Tawḥīd is the heaviest thing upon the scale. Sincerity to Allāh, Glorified and Exalted is He. Nothing can outweigh it. "Indeed, Allāh does not forgive association with Him, but He forgives what is less than that for whom He wills." [Sūrah an-Nisā' (4):48] A Great salvation for this wrongdoer through his sincerity to Allāh, Glorified and Exalted is He. So correct, O servant, your path. And keep your intention sincere in everything. Correct [it]. If you teach, teach for the sake of Allāh. If you call, call for the sake of Allāh. If you defend the religion of Allāh, defend for the sake of Allāh. And so on. "And they were not commanded except to worship Allāh, [being] sincere to Him in religion, inclining to truth, and to establish prayer and to give zakāh. And that is the correct religion." [Sūrah al-Bayyinah (98):5] This is the religion that Allāh wants from us. "Say, [O Muḥammad], 'Indeed, I have been commanded to worship Allāh, [being] sincere to Him in religion. And I have been commanded to be the first [among you] of the Muslims.'" [Sūrah az-Zumar (39):11-12] "Say, 'Allāh [alone] do I worship, sincere to Him in my religion, So worship what you will besides Him.' Say, 'Indeed, the losers are the ones who will lose themselves and their families on the Day of Resurrection. Unquestionably, that is the manifest loss.'" [Sūrah az-Zumar (39):14-15] The one who dies without sincerity-has lost himself, his worldy life, and his Hereafter. Nothing benefits [one] in this world and the Hereafter except sincerity. Indeed, corrupt intentions ruin the worldly life and the Hereafter. "Indeed, in the body there is a piece of flesh; if it is sound, the whole body is sound, and if it is corrupt, the whole body is corrupt. Verily, it is the heart." [Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī and Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim]” ——— Translated by: Umm Ādam al-Maghribiyyah Arabic Audio Source: https://t.me/sh_yahia_duroos/24407 Official English Channel: https://t.me/ShaykhYahyaEn
