Three people were arrested for gangraping a minor girl from the tribal community in Assam’s Chirang district, police said on Monday. One of the accused, a 20-year-old, sustained bullet injuries in a police encounter while trying to flee. Seven people, including a doctor and a nurse, were arrested on Friday in connection with the alleged repeated rape of a 26-year-old woman with mental illness by four men and the subsequent abortion in Karnataka’s Gadag district, police said.
