Mountains are not just majestic landscapes and jagged peaks. They inspire, unite people, and remind us how important it is to protect nature. Each one has its own story, secrets, and beauty. For International Mountain Day, we've gathered the world's most remarkable peaks for you: 🗻Elbrus The highest peak in Russia and Europe. Standing over 5600 meters tall, its snow-capped summits have repeatedly tested the courage of climbers. This mountain is a true symbol of the Caucasus and one of those places you want to reach at least once in your lifetime. 🗻Matterhorn The iconic peak of the Pennine Alps on the border of Italy and Switzerland. A pyramidal beauty over 4000 meters high. It's also capricious and dangerous, which is why it was one of the last major mountains to be conquered. 🗻Koryakskaya Sopka An active volcano in Kamchatka, standing about 3456 meters tall. Its perfectly conical shape makes it a true natural star. Koryakskaya is actively erupting, so ascending to its summit is for the bravest only! 🗻Belukha The highest peak of the Altai Mountains. With its icy slopes and unpredictable climate, the mountain seems to whisper: "This is a place for the bold." Even gazing at it from afar is a treat for the eyes and soul. 🗻Fitz Roy The legendary peak of Patagonia. The sharp granite spires of Fitz Roy test the mettle of even experienced climbers. Does Sustainable Development Begin with Industry ❓ Last week, Nurhussein Ali, an ambassador of International Environmental Club "Ecosystem," participated in the landmark Global Industry Summit 2025. The summit was held as part of the 21st session of the UNIDO General Conference in Riyadh. This unique gathering, which brings together representatives from 173 member states every two years, aims to chart a course for a fair and sustainable industrial future. ✳️A key focus of the Summit was SDG 9: "Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation." On November 12-13, 2025, Baku (Azerbaijan) hosted the 8th Meeting of the Youth Council of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA). The Russian delegation included Polina Chesnokova, Head of the Project Department at the All-Russian Environmental Movement "Ecosystem". CICA is an international forum that brings together countries from the Asian continent. Its primary goal is to enhance relations and cooperation among Asian and Eurasian states, thereby ensuring stability and security in the region. During the meeting, the Russian representatives shared their extensive experience with colleagues from 28 countries and put forward a proposal to implement joint projects. A central theme of the dialogue was the development of multifaceted cooperation among member states as a key condition for strengthening mutual trust. CICA also places a strong emphasis on environmental security as one of the foundations for regional stability. #Ecosystem_IEC #EcoEvents

International Science-to-practice Conference The International Scientific and Practical Conference, held last week in the Shchuchinsk-Burabay resort area of Kazakhstan, has concluded. The event was organized by the Higher College of Forestry, Ecology, and Tourism with the support of the Akmola Region Education Department and brought together over 20 experts from Kazakhstan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, and Abkhazia to discuss pressing water issues in Central Asia. A particular highlight was the address by Dayana, a representative of the younger generation of ecologists and an activist of the "Ecosystem" Movement. In her speech, she emphasized that modern environmental challenges require out-of-the-box solutions, and that student environmental clubs play a vital role as hubs for generating new ideas and practical projects for the protection of aquatic ecosystems. During the morning session, participants examined key issues of transboundary water resource management, the preservation of the Caspian and Aral Seas, the integration of green technologies into the water sector, climate change adaptation, and the development of international cooperation in water resources.
