DRUG DEALERS TO APPEAR IN COURT Two suspects who were arrested for dealing in drugs as well as possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition in Mayville on Thursday night will appear in the Durban Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 14 August 2026. The two suspects, aged 20 and 26 years old, were arrested during an intelligence led operation by police officers who are members of the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Organised Crime, specialising in Narcotics at a residence at Puntus area in Mayville. The suspects were put under surveillance from June 2026 after police detectives uncovered the duo's suspected illicit drug trade in Overport and the surrounding suburbs. After enough information was collected, a search and seizure warrant was obtained and during the execution, the suspects were found with a firearm and 50 rounds of ammunition of different calibre of firearms, drugs including mandrax, heroin and cocaine. The recovered drugs is estimated to a street value of over R700 000.
