(See above.) The OCU serves a very similar purpose to the "living church" during Soviet times. A purpose of these groups is to destroy. Under Soviet rule, many churches were transferred to the "living church" and then chained up and closed. The transfer of Orthodox Churches and properties in both cases is so that they will stand empty and be uncared for. The OCU exists to deconstruct churches both physically and spiritually, just as the "living church" did. The purpose is to cover an anti-Christian group in Christian veneer, and thereby seek to degrade Orthodox Christianity. And, yes, the EP is complicit in this agenda through its support of the OCU and its willful and steadfast silence about the persecution of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

Our subscribers have shared another example of what happens to historic religious sites that come under the control of the state and the OCU. ⭕️ This is the historic St. George’s Church at the Cossack Graves, located in the Rivne region. The church, built with donations from Tsar Nicholas II—(whom the OCU strongly condemns)—in memory of the Cossacks who died during the Berestechko Battle, was taken over by the UOC-KP after the collapse of the Soviet regime. Today, the site is home to an OCU monastery. Every year, on the anniversary of the Battle of Berestechko, the OCU holds commemorative events there. ❗️These events take place directly in front of the murals by renowned Ukrainian artist Ivan Yizhakevych, which are visibly deteriorating and being destroyed before our eyes. It is evident that the OCU is unable to properly care for and preserve this historic religious site. ⭕️ But the regime of “spiritual independence” appears to take no notice of this. No inspections are conducted to assess the condition of the site, and the prosecutor’s office does not seek to have the state intervene to protect it. Instead, the authorities are making every effort to seize churches belonging to the UOC, many of which have been fully restored through the efforts and donations of Orthodox Christians. OCU “priest” Artemiy Fakhrutdinov stated that a young man choosing a monastery should go exclusively to a women's monastery – that is where “all the beauty of God's creation” is. Artemiy Fakhrutdinov, a cleric of the Bila Tserkva diocese of the OCU, advised a young man who is considering monasticism to choose only a women's monastery. The corresponding video appeared on his Instagram, but only recently went viral online. “A guy wants to go to a monastery and doesn't know which one? Only a women's one. Only a women's one, don't think twice. What is there to do in a men's one? Only a women's one. Oh, all the beauty of God's creation is there. And what's in a men's one? Beards – and that's it. No. Women's. Women's, don't think twice. That's my advice to you,” said the OCU priest. Whether Fakhrutdinov was being serious or whether this was some kind of specific humor on his part, the cleric did not clarify. See above. Ukrainian government is forcefully conscripting Ukrainian Orthodox Church clergy. It does not do this with the State agency "church" called the "orthodox church of Ukraine." This State agency is maintained through the support of the Ecumenical Patriarchate. Let us not forget that GOARCH in America is giving Zelensky another "award". How wonderful would it be if the EP raised its voice and spoke against the forceful conscription of Orthodox clergy? Or, if that won't happen, how wonderfully Christian would it be if the Assembly of canonical Bishops in America raised its voice on this matter! Will silence continue to prevail? Will global politics continue to be more important that the Gospel? May the Lord grant grace to our persecuted brethren in Ukraine!

Fr. Ihor Kravchenko, a cleric at the Holy Trinity Kytaevo Monastery in Kyiv, has spoken about the circumstances of his abduction by the TRC personnel. ⭕️ On July 20, immediately after a church service and right outside the monastery, TRC personnel detained and took the priest away. According to the monastery, Fr. Ihor was transported to the Zhytomyr region, where he was promised that to be released. However, the promise was not kept. ⭕️ According to Fr. Ihor’s personal testimony, he has now been forcibly held at a military unit for the third consecutive week. The monastery reported that TRC personnel attempted to pressure him into violating church canons, taking a military oath, and handling weapons. А team was contacted by the wife of Father Andriy Denysenko, a priest of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. According to her, on June 25, 2026, Father Andriy was detained at the Bykivnia checkpoint by patrol police officers and taken to the Dniprovskyi TRC. He was assigned to the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade, where he underwent military training. Father Andriy last contacted his family on July 26. After that, according to one of his fellow servicemen, the unit was deployed to a training ground. Later, his wife was informed that approximately five days earlier, officers of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) had taken Father Andriy directly from the training ground. According to his fellow serviceman, Father Andriy had undergone a polygraph examination, after which SBU officers stated that they had additional questions for him and with his personal belongings removed the priest from the military unit. As of today, there has been no contact with Father Andriy. His family has not been informed of his whereabouts, the legal grounds for these actions, or his procedural status. The team of lawyers is starting work on this case. Appropriate attorney requests, legal motions, and appeals will be prepared and submitted to the competent authorities in order to establish Father Andriy's whereabouts, clarify the legal basis for his detention, and ensure that his constitutional rights are respected.
