Dear Practitioners, ISCA has issued SSA 570 (Revised 2024), Going Concern and SSA 240 (Revised), The Auditor’s Responsibilities Relating to Fraud in an Audit of Financial Statements to strengthen auditors’ responsibilities in two critical areas of public interest. The revised standards respond to heightened stakeholder expectations following global corporate failures and high-profile fraud cases. They aim to enhance audit quality, strengthen confidence in financial reporting and provide users of financial statements with more decision-useful information. Key revisions include: · enhanced requirements for auditors’ evaluation of going concern; · clearer communication in the auditor’s report; · stronger application of professional skepticism; and · a more focused “fraud lens” when identifying and responding to fraud risks. Dear Practitioners, MAS has published the Guidelines on Audit of Payment Service Providers. These guidelines set out MAS’ expectations on the annual audits of Payment Service Providers under the Payment Services Act, including reports that should be submitted, as well as baseline and mandatory coverage areas.   The guidelines will be effective for annual audits with financial year ending 31 December 2026 onwards, i.e. for Form 4 submissions due from 30 June 2027 onwards. The revised Form 4 will be available on MAS-Tx in 2Q 2027.
