This marks the strongest result achieved by Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv over the past years of participation in the Moot. The team members were 👩🎓👩🎓👩🎓: Kateryna Opanasenko (4th year, International Law programme) Marharyta Karmaniuk (3rd year, International Law programme) Veronika Ostrivna (2nd year of the Master’s programme, International Law) The team was expertly coached by Ilona Boliubash and Nataliia Badora — two dedicated mentors whose professional guidance, deep expertise in IP law, and unwavering support were instrumental in shaping the team’s success 🎓 Participation in the competition required thorough preparation, in-depth analysis of intellectual property law issues, and a high level of oral advocacy ⚖️🗣 We are also sincerely grateful to our sponsors, whose generous support was essential in making the team’s participation in the competition possible: ELEKS, Headway Inc, AMO, CWB, MORIS, Mr. Turner P. Smith, and the Students Fund of the Institute of International Relations. Their assistance played a vital role in ensuring the team’s participation, supporting their preparation, and ultimately helping make this outstanding result possible. 🤝✨ The Oxford IP Moot is one of the most prestigious international competitions in the field of intellectual property law, bringing together the strongest student teams from around the world. Our students demonstrated an exceptional level of preparation, legal argumentation, and advocacy skills during the oral rounds, despite all the hardships and challenges of preparing during one of the most difficult winters in Ukraine’s history. We are incredibly proud of our team for representing Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv with distinction on the international stage, and we wish them continued professional success, new achievements, and inspiration! 🏅✨

Hi, everyone! We are proud to announce that the team of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv successfully participated in the Second European Regional Round of the John H. Jackson Moot Court Competition on WTO Law, held on 10-13 March 2026 in Oslo, Norway 🇳🇴. The team consisted of third-year students of the Institute of International Relations – Kateryna Kot, Maksym Nepochatykh, Daria Filenko – as well as coaches Tetiana Osypenko and Anna Yakovenko ✨✨✨. The John H. Jackson Moot Court Competition on WTO Law is the only moot court competition specifically dedicated to international trade law and one of the largest and most prestigious competitions in the field of public international law, organised by ELSA with the support of the WTO 💼🌎. Participation in the competition required six months of intensive preparation, including drafting written submissions for both the complainant and the respondent, as well as presenting oral arguments in simulated hearings before a panel of WTO experts. This year’s case focused on key disciplines of WTO law, including national treatment, most-favoured-nation treatment, and the prohibition of quantitative restrictions, in the context of public procurement, free trade areas, and domestic measures aimed at preventing the worst forms of child labour. These complex legal issues unfolded against the backdrop of contemporary challenges, including the transition to a green economy, the implementation of due diligence and ethical standards in global supply chains, the regionalisation of trade, the growing trend toward unilateralism in state trade policies, and the emergence of exclusive access regimes for critical minerals.

Hi everyone! 👋 We invite you to join the KNU Team for the International & European Tax Moot Court Competition in Belgium! 🏦 The International & European Tax Moot Court is organized annually by the Institute of Tax Law of the KU Leuven and the International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation (IBFD). It focuses primalily on tax treaties interpretation related to the hot global taxation topics: ▪️ OECD Base Erosion and Profit shifting Action plan, ▪️ Global Anti-Base Erosion Rules (GloBE), ▪️ Common international tax law rules such as permanent establishments or Mutual Agreement Procedure. 📌 The competition consists of 2 phases: submission of memorandums and oral rounds. Only 16 selected teams can participate in oral rounds based on the assessment of the written memorandums. An amazing advantage of this moot court is an absence of regional rounds.
