I have my own thoughts on this which revolve around the fact that there was never going to be a national ID card type scheme As you know, digital identity is a totally different concept and like many I've always said it was going to be enforced "softly" via corporations and services. This announcement therefore makes me think they are moving to the next stage of the digital identity cage. I can't think of another reason they would try and blur lines with this announcement The DUA Act is still there. The digital identity framework is still there. Back office integration of data (inter operability) is still there. Forced verification of directors is still there.
