🔻🇮🇳🚨Seven workers died when water and debris filled a tunnel at a hydroelectric site in Mayapur (Pipalkoti), Chamoli district, on Thursday. Landslides and subsidence trapped 22 people; 19 were rescued overnight. Three remain missing. District Disaster Management Officer N K Joshi confirmed the casualties: Pradeep Singh Pawar (Tehri), Mukesh (Chamoli), Durlabh Sharma (Bihar), Vijay and Jitendra Kumar (Jharkhand), and Lokeshwar and Bhuneshwar (location unknown). Injured workers were taken to Gopeshwar District Hospital. Six rescuers entered the water-filled tunnel. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), and police are leading the rescue. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami arrived by helicopter to oversee operations. District Magistrate Gaurav Kumar ordered all resources mobilized to find the missing.
