Al-Ahrar salutes comrade and leader Georges Abdullah on the first anniversary of his release from French prison where he spent 41 years. In the above clips Comrade Abdullah provides critical insight about the role of political prisoners in the movement and the importance of their consistent connection to their comrades outside prison. We are grateful for Comrade Abdullah’s teaching and the guidance he offers us in our work, especially as colonial states accelerate their repression and use criminalization and imprisonment to attack our movement. We must continue centring the struggle of political prisoners and make it costly for the state to imprison or isolate them. Link to full interview: https://youtu.be/Sr9uo_j8PkY?si=x51w0SfCVQvrjk_g

On Sunday afternoon and evening, Al-Ahrar Toronto tabled at Christie Pits park and spoke to dozens of people about the prisoners and the forces of Resistance who have the power to liberate them 🇵🇸 🇱🇧 🇮🇷 🇾🇪 We had a letter writing pop-up that was very popular across generations and backgrounds. From families with young children to youth to a sanitation worker who jumped out of his truck to quickly write something before going back to work-- the masses repeatedly demonstrate their will to connect with incarcerated strugglers! As we always do at our tables, Ahrar distributed loads of free zines, stickers, flyers, and had various handmade prints, patches, and framed tatreez designs for sale, including a beautiful depiction of an Iranian split warhead missile. We'll see you next on August 8th at 2 pm for our event Choke Points of Empire: Sanctions, Sovereignty, and the Strait of Hormuz! Register at: tinyurl.com/ChokepointofEmpire #FreePalestine

Join Films4Falastin for our monthly movie fundraiser on July 28, 6pm at Cherry Street Village. We will be watching “Fedayeen: Georges Abdallah’s Fight”, a documentary about the life and leadership of former political prisoner and Lebanese freedom fighter, Georges Abdallah. We are screening this in honor of the 1 year anniversary of his liberation after 41 years in French prison. As the settler land-grabs and zionist ethnic cleansing expands further into Lebanon as this US-Zionist war on the people of the region escalates, we have a responsibility to deepen our political understanding and donate to the people of Lebanon who have been made into internal refugees. This is a fundraiser for mutual aid in Lebanon; we encourage attendees to bring cash to purchase food and other items as well as an entry fee of $10+. Please let us know if you’d like to contribute items to sell. Bring friends and family, RSVP at this link https://tinyurl.com/5n6fbusd

  • Statement Issued by the Alternative Palestinian Revolutionary Path Movement Masar Badil congratulates the election of the Mujahid Dr. Khalil al-Hayya as Chair of the Political Bureau of Hamas The Masar Badil, the Alternative Palestinian Revolutionary Path Movement, extends its warmest congratulations and greetings to the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, on the occasion of the election of the Mujahid and national leader Dr. Khalil al-Hayya as Chair of the Political Bureau of the Movement, wishing him and the new leadership success in bearing their national, pan-Arab, and international responsibilities at this pivotal stage in the history of our Palestinian people, our Arab and Islamic nation, and the struggle of the resisting peoples in confronting the forces of colonialism, occupation, and racism. The Alternative Palestinian Revolutionary Path Movement affirms that the Palestinian resistance, with its various forces and struggling factions, and at the forefront of them the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, has been and continues to constitute the first line of defense for the existence of our people and their national rights, and that the current stage requires further field, political, and popular unity among the forces of resistance, and the strengthening of the presence and voice of our people in the homeland and the diaspora within a comprehensive national liberation project whose organizing slogan is: "No voice rises above the voice of the Palestinian people." The election of Brother Dr. Khalil al-Hayya (Abu Osama), in the midst of the ongoing genocide war and Zionist-U.S. aggression against our people and our nation, and in the face of displacement and liquidation projects, and the brutal aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran, places a heightened responsibility on all Palestinian and Arab national forces, and liberation movements in the world, to strengthen the steadfastness of the resistance front in our region and the world, and to consolidate the unity of the resistance forces internationally more than ever before. Our Movement also expresses its deep appreciation for the great sacrifices made by the leadership, cadres, and mujahideen of the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, alongside all Palestinian resistance factions, in confronting the Zionist-imperialist genocide, and in the battle to defend Palestine and the peoples of our nation, affirming that the blood of the martyrs, the sacrifices of the prisoners, and the steadfastness of the wounded will remain a beacon on the path to liberating our greater Arab homeland from colonialism, dependency, normalization, and tyranny. The Alternative Palestinian Revolutionary Path Movement renews its commitment to work with all national and Islamic forces, and Arab and international liberation forces, in order to expand the resistance front, isolate the Zionist occupation, and escalate the global solidarity movement with our people, until the achievement of its goals of liberation and return, and the attainment of full sovereignty for our people over all its national soil, from the River to the Sea. Glory to the martyrs... Freedom for the prisoners... Healing for the wounded... And victory to the resistance. Alternative Palestinian Revolutionary Path Movement 20 July 2026

To commemorate an important day* in the history of the joint Palestinian-Lebanese struggle against Zionist colonialism, Al-Ahrar Palestinian Prisoner Support invites you to take a look back at two successful executions of the most material path to liberating the prisoners: the prisoner exchange. *It is on this day in 2008 that six Palestinian and Lebanese fighters and the bodies of 200 martyrs were liberated at the hands of Hezbollah. ICSS Sunday Morning Marxist Forum The Islamic Resistance, the Revolutionary Left and Anti-Imperialist Struggle Speaker: Charlotte Kates Date: Sunday, July 19, 2026 Time: 10:30 AM Pacific Time REGISTER TO JOIN LIVE ON ZOOM: https://icssmarx.org/sign-up-for-our-newsletter-and-zoom-links/ Around the world, and particularly in the Arab and Iranian region (West Asia), the leading anti-imperialist forces coming into direct confrontation with the United States and the Zionist project are Islamic Resistance forces, including in Palestine, Lebanon, Yemen and Iran. The United States targets these organizations, and states, with criminalization, sanctions and direct military assault. At the same time, imperialist politicians, governments and think tanks regularly raise an alarm about the threat to U.S. hegemony posed by a potential “red-green alliance,” a unified revolutionary/anti-imperialist front involving Islamic resistance and revolutionary left movements at an international level. How should Marxists and left revolutionaries understand the Islamic resistance movements? What is the potential for building a united front? We will discuss these questions on Sunday, July 19, with Charlotte Kates, co-founder of the Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network, deputy secretary-general of the International Association of Democratic Lawyers, and longtime activist for justice and liberation in Palestine. Based in Lebanon, Charlotte recently returned from Iran, where she attended the millions-strong funeral commemorations for Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei.

  • The following statement was issued by the Joint Leadership of the Popular Democratic Party and the Arab Socialist Action Party in Lebanon: No Negotiations… No Recognition… No Surrender The Joint Leadership rejects and condemns the official Lebanese signing of a “peace” agreement — not a framework agreement — with the Zionist enemy, through which the enemy was granted the right to continue killing and destroying, to remain in the occupied southern villages, to prevent the people of the land from returning to their homes, and to prevent their reconstruction. Together, they also pledged to “eliminate” the elements of popular and field-based strength that confront aggression and deter the enemy — all under the management of U.S. imperialism, the sponsor of wars of genocide, the oppression of peoples, and the plunder of the world’s wealth. The sectarian political system, subordinate and submissive to U.S. and Western dictates, historically incapable of building a state and consistently failing to confront the enemy and its aggression, regards the mission of the security and military forces as protecting the presidential and government headquarters, the banks, the interests of the ruling class, and some members descended from feudal landlords and major landowners who sold land on both sides of the border to Zionist agencies for the construction of settler colonies. Therefore, it was only natural that the people of the South, the Lebanese popular classes, and the national, Arab nationalist, leftist, and Islamic forces would confront the arrogance of the enemy and its occupation of Lebanese land since the establishment of the Zionist entity on the land of Palestine, through every form and means. The authority in Lebanon—the authority of capitulation, surrender, and shame—has granted the Zionist entity a certificate of innocence for the blood of our people by recognizing it, submitting to it, and pledging not to pursue it legally for its massacres, at a time when the enemy entity is experiencing comprehensive isolation, expressed by the peoples of the world, many of its governments, and the criminal prosecutions of the enemy’s leaders in numerous countries. Our self-sacrificing people deserve a national political authority that possesses the courage, determination, and resolve to place the interests of the homeland and the people at the top of its agenda; an authority that provides the necessities of life for the people and prepares society to defend the land; one that abandons the illusion of appeasing the enemy through concessions here or there — and will never succeed in doing so; a national authority that does not present the blood of the martyrs, the heroism of the resistance fighters, the suffering of the prisoners, and the pain of displacement as a free gift to the enemy; a national authority entrusted with safeguarding the sovereignty of the homeland and the dignity of the people—an authority of the people over their own land, not the authority of others over our land. Let us unite as political, social, and workers’ forces in a broad national front to confront the equation imposed by the authority of submission: surrendering our weapons in exchange for surrendering our land. Let our common objective be to reject negotiations, overthrow the agreement of humiliation, and restore our full national rights in liberating the land, the oil wealth, and the maritime borders, and in building a state of citizenship, social justice, and national sovereignty, a state of the overwhelming popular majority serving the interests of the working class, laborers, and farmers, rather than the state of the one percent serving the comprador class, the rentier economy, and the banks. • The Challenge of the Day: Establishing a Unified National Front to Restore the Palestinian National Liberation Movement https://masarbadil.org/en/2026/06/8285/ The Palestinian cause today stands at a decisive historical turning point, amid the continuing war of genocide and Zionist aggression, the escalation of the settler-colonial assault on our land and people, and the ongoing crisis of the Palestinian political system and its inability to represent the aspirations of our people and their national rights. Proceeding from this pivotal moment, the Palestinian Alternative Revolutionary Path Movement believes that the national and historical responsibility borne by the Palestinian resistance forces requires the initiation of a serious and genuine national dialogue leading to the establishment of a unified Palestinian national front that restores the Palestinian national liberation movement and unites the energies of our people in the homeland and throughout the diaspora around the program of liberation and return. This national front must begin with a comprehensive political and critical review of previous experiences, and establish a comprehensive national liberation project founded upon confronting the occupation and the Zionist project, and defending the inalienable national rights of the Palestinian people, foremost among them the right of return, the right to self-determination, and the right to liberate the entirety of the Palestinian homeland. It must also work to rebuild the Palestinian national institutions on revolutionary, representative, and democratic foundations, reflecting the free will of our people, and putting an end to the monopolization of national decision-making and the exclusion of the majority of our people practiced by the so-called “Palestinian Authority” in Ramallah. The Movement believes that restoring the central role of the Palestinian people in the diaspora is not merely an organizational matter or an issue of representation, but rather a strategic issue that touches the very essence of the Palestinian national project. Millions of Palestinians in refugee camps and places of exile constitute an integral part of our people, and they possess a historical and political right that is not subject to compromise or marginalization. Therefore, reintegrating them into national decision-making, rebuilding the national institutions, and strengthening their role in leading the military, political, popular, media, and diplomatic struggle constitute an essential condition for reviving the Palestinian national liberation movement and restoring its unity and capacity for initiative and action. What is required today is to restore the Palestinian cause to its natural position as a national liberation cause of a people struggling to liberate their land, secure the return of their refugees, and bring an end to the Zionist settler-colonial project. The Palestinian Alternative Revolutionary Path Movement calls upon all resistance forces, national forces, popular organizations, and our people in the homeland and the diaspora to shoulder their historical responsibilities and engage in a responsible national dialogue leading to the construction of a unified national leadership and the launch of a new stage of the Palestinian struggle, based on resistance in all its legitimate forms, and on the unity of the Palestinian people, the unity of their cause, and the unity of their objectives. The unity of the resistance forces, the establishment of a unified Palestinian national front, the restoration of the historic role of the diaspora, and the rebuilding of the Palestinian national liberation movement are not matters that can be deferred to a future date, but urgent national imperatives imposed by the sacrifices and steadfastness of our people. They are the path toward the liberation of all of Palestine, from the river to the sea, the return of the refugees to their homes, the dismantling of the Zionist settler-colonial project, and the end of its existence on the land of Palestine.
