In the modern age, the relentless currents pushing social media algorithms immerse even those who are committed to the Dīn within ‘digital religious communities’, where they are constantly exposed to the noise presented as ‘sacred knowledge’. I too once regarded this as one of the great advantages of social media—a means to spread the Dīn. Yet today, these communities have, more often than not, become among the greatest sources of ignorance and confusion. They cultivate superficial displays of scholarship, intellectual arrogance, ostentation, self-aggrandisement, and the disparagement of others—in fact, virtually every manifestation of poor character. I hesitate even to say that, in some cases, they have become a means by which people are driven away from the Dīn of Islam altogether.[1] How deeply I pity the coming generations, who are drowning in this stagnant mire while having wool pulled over their eyes—they have fallen into compounded ignorance as they actually believe they are acquiring knowledge of Islam. And how deeply I pity those who plunge others into that very mire while sincerely believing themselves to be their rescuers. Imām al-Ghazālī (Allah have mercy on him) writes: A teacher should impart to the learner only what corresponds to his level of understanding. He should not present matters beyond the learner’s intellectual capacity, lest he alienate him or leave his mind bewildered. In this, he follows the example of the Master of Mankind ﷺ, who said: “We, the company of prophets, have been commanded to address people according to their respective stations and to speak to them in accordance with the measure of their intellects.” Thus, profound realities should only be disclosed to one who is capable of comprehending them. The Prophet ﷺ also said: “Whenever a person relates something to a people that their minds cannot grasp, it becomes a source of trial for some among them.” ʿAlī (Allah be pleased with him), pointing to his chest, said: “Indeed, within this breast lies an abundance of knowledge—if only I could find those worthy of bearing it.” He spoke the truth. The hearts of the righteous are the graves of sacred secrets. A scholar should not disclose everything he knows to everyone. This applies even when the learner is capable of understanding the knowledge but is not fit to benefit from it. How much more, then, in the case of one who is incapable of understanding it at all?[2] The decree of Allah always prevails, and there is no power nor strength except through Allah. — [1] There is no shortage of examples of this across Facebook and X. In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate. May Allah send prayers and salutations upon our master Muḥammad ﷺ, and upon his family and Companions. With the dawn of the year 1448 AH, we are honoured to announce the establishment of the European Fatwa Council. Its purpose is to serve Muslims and to make more accessible the essential legal rulings and practical guidance of Islam that Muslims require in matters of their daily lives. And Allah alone is the Granter of success. https://europeanfatwacouncil.com Facebook: https://facebook.com/EuropeanFatwaCouncil Instagram: https://instagram.com/EuropeanFatwaCouncil X: https://x.com/europeanfatwaco Telegram: https://t.me/EuropeanFatwaCouncil WhatsApp: https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VbCbcIWBqbrHGt77x52G
A unique aspect of ‘Sūra al-Ṭalāq’ is that almost every āya ends with a glad-tiding from Allah: Verse 1: […] You never know, perhaps Allah will bring about a change later. Verse 2: […] Whoever has taqwā of Allah, He will give him a way out. Verse 3: […] Allah has appointed a measure for all things. Verse 4: […] Whoever has taqwā of Allah, He will make matters easy for him. Verse 5: […] Whoever has taqwā of Allah, He will erase his bad actions from him and greatly increase his reward. Verse 7: […] Allah will appoint after difficulty, ease. Verse 11: […] Allah has provided for them excellently. May Allah make the Qurʾān the spring-tide of our hearts. #Qurʾān
O Allah, do not preoccupy us with anything that distracts us from You; do not sever us from You; and do not attach our hearts to anything other than You.
Recently, I found on the side of a manuscript: It is incumbent for a rational person to guard one’s tongue and to be aware of one’s time. Guarding the tongue is essential, as words may alter one’s ultimate end. On the authority of our master Bilāl b. al-Ḥārith al-Muzanī, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Indeed, a man may utter a word that is among the good pleasure of Allah, not thinking it would reach what it has reached, yet Allah records for him by it His good pleasure until the day he meets Him. And indeed, a man may utter a word that is among the wrath of Allah, not thinking it would reach what it has reached, yet Allah records for him by it His wrath until the day he meets Him.[1] Think before you open your mouth. [1] Reported by Mālik in ‘al-Muwaṭṭaʾ’ §2818; al-Tirmidhī §2319; Ibn Ḥibbān in his ‘Ṣaḥīḥ’ §281; al-Dāraquṭnī in ‘Aṭrāf al-Gharāʾib’, v. 1 p. 268; and Ibn Māja §3969. #Manuscript #Adab
Allah, Most High, states: “Warn them of the Day of Regret, when the matter will have been decided while they are in a state of heedlessness” [Qurʾān 19:39]. Commenting on this āya, Abū Ṭālib al-Makkī (may Allah have mercy upon him) said: It is said: death came upon them while they were preoccupied with the affairs of this world.[1] [1] Qūt al-Qulūb, v. 1 p. 162. #Khawāṭir

There are two essential books which must be read to understand current world events: 1. Navigating the End of Time, and; 2. Intellectual Intifada. Both by Shaykh Asrar Rashid.
Allah, Most High, states: “Alif Lām Mīm. The Romans have been defeated in the land nearby; yet after their defeat they will prevail within a few years. To Allah belongs the affair from the beginning and the end. On that day the muʾminūn will rejoice” [Qurʾān 30:1-4]. ‘Sūra al-Rūm’ was revealed in Makkah at a time when the Muslims were still a minority, approximately ten years before the Hijra, and when they possessed neither an established polity, nor any military power. Despite this, the Qurʾān situated them at the very heart of global events, addressing major conflicts between the great empires of the age and explicitly aligning them with one side: “and on that day the muʾminūn will rejoice.” The message here is clear: Muslims are not to exist on the margins of life and international affairs, devoid of position, perspective, or engagement. The spirit of this enduring Qurʾānic import instills in muʾminūn the obligation to cultivate political awareness, a conscious understanding of reality, and a principled stance aligned with the Truth wherever it may be found.

The people who were thought to be amongst those who possessed such zeal for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that they would be the first to denounce the vile drivel uttered against the sublime rank, have instead clothed themselves in the garb of ‘wisdom’ and ‘rational’ restraint in a situation where hesitation and ostensible ‘calmness’ avail nothing. Rather than directing their pens against the depraved who transgress the station of Prophethood, they turn them against those who rise in defence of the noble Prophetic sanctity—even if, in their view, some excesses occurred out of ardour for that sacred rank. “Certainly we belong to Allah and to Him we return.” O Allah, to You we complain of this strange age! #Khawāṭir
It has been related that Dāwūd al-Ṭāʾī (may Allah have mercy upon him) said: Every soul leaves the Dunyā thirsty except for the soul of those who remember Allah.[1] [1] Tanbīh al-Mughtarrīn, p. 112. #Dhikr
For those intending to perform Hajj this year:
The preludes to the Dajjāl are manifesting: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Before the appearance of the Dajjāl, there will come years of deception: rainfall will be abundant, yet vegetation will be scarce; the truthful will be deemed liars, and liars will be believed; the treacherous will be entrusted, and the trustworthy will be betrayed; and the ruwaybiḍa will speak.” It was asked, “O Messenger of Allah, who are the ruwaybiḍa?” He ﷺ replied, “One who is of no consequence,” and in another narration: “A trivial person who speaks on matters of public concern.”[1] [1] Reported by al-Bazzār in ‘al-Musnad’ §2740, al-Rūyānī in ‘al-Musnad’ §588), and al-Ṭabarānī in ‘al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr’ v. 18 p. 67, among others. #Fitna
