Strategy for General Studies: 1) History Medieval History: Crash Course by Abhishek Shrivastava on Unacademy ( Available for free) Modern History: Crash Course by Abhishek Shrivastava on Unacademy ( Available for free) Tips(History): 1) Keep making short notes while watching the videos for revision purpose at the time of the exam. 2) Try to finish these courses in 4-5 days. 3) If you have time you may also complete crash course on ancient history. I was able to attempt 2-3 questions out of 5 by following this strategy. 2) Geography •Vision IAS PT365 Environment •Prepare important topics like: Climate Change, Urbanisation, Urban Flooding, Indian Ocean Dipole, El Niño, La Niña etc. 3) Polity •Vision IAS PT365 Polity •Prepare important topics like: Preamble of constitution, Pillars of Democracy, Judicial Activism, Judicial Review etc. 4) Economics •Vision IAS PT365 Economy •Read summary of Economic Survey for better understanding of economics concept. Tips(Polity, Economics, Geography): 1) Based on the past year papers analysis, most of the questions were based on the current affairs only, so I referred to the yearly current affairs magazine(PT 365 Vision IAS). Mark important topics from this magazine and prepare short notes on them. 2) Answer writing can be practiced here: https://iasbaba.com/think-learn-perform/ Key Points to remember: 1) Try to write answers in bulletpoints and not in paragraphs. 2) Write to the point answers and don’t repeat same points again and again. 3) Try to attempt maximum number of questions as there is no negative marking. 4) Do not spend more than 12-15 minutes on single question. 5) Try to present answers using flow charts and diagrams, wherever possible. Thank you!
Strategy for General English: 1) Essay writing You may refer to the strategy given by IAS Anudeep Sir. Reference: https://anudeepdurishetty.in/writing-a-good-essay-in-upsc-mains-explained/ 2) Precis writing Try to practice 3-4 precis before the exam. You can practice this from sources available online. 3) Rest of the topics They can be prepared while preparing for General Studies. Tips: 1) Check the answersheets of UPSC CSE toppers and analyse their answer writing techniques. Reference: http://www.visionias.in/resources/toppers_answers.php 2) Focus on your handwriting and way of presentation. 3) Try to utilize the whole 3 hours provided for the paper and don’t rush during the exam. My strategy was to allocate 1 hour for essay(30 marks), 1 hour for precis writing(30 marks) and remaining 1 hour for rest of the questions(40 marks). 4) Do not overwrite in the answersheet and try to utilize the pages efficiently. Feel free to post your queries in the comments. Thank you!
Hello everyone! What are your choices for Statistics Paper-4? Let’s see the most popular choices of the aspirants.
Try to read and learn about Preamble today, you should understand each and every word of it. It would help you while attempting questions from Polity section of GS paper and try to use these keywords (like sovereign, secular, democratic etc) while framing your answers.
