  • Salām all, I hope you are well. As many of you are aware that we are now running our 12th course at Open Madrasa, in the Art of Islamic Debate. All praise is to Allah, and my gratitude to you that have supported and believed in us since the beginning. You know who you are, and so do we. Allah bless you and increase your rizq. We have around 7 students from the UK and Pakistan (mostly Pakistan) who want to take this course but cannot afford the fees, despite the fact that we’ve tried to accommodate them. Some of them are studying in Madrasas and cannot afford the fees. We really don’t want that to be a barrier for them. They have the heart, but not the means. This course is crucial as it teaches them the art of Islamic debate, which will be crucial for them in their d’awā work later. So, we are putting this message out to any well wishing folk, whom Allah has blessed with the means, to help them on their journey and give them the support they need. Any support is appreciated, however, to cover an entire student’s fee is £195. If you can help, BismiLlah. If you cannot, then please remember them and us in your prayers in these blessed days of Hajj. https://www.openmadrasa.org/sponsor-munazara JazākAllāh Khairan.

  • “Time is not merely the ticking of a clock or the turning of a calendar—it is the stage upon which our deeds are etched into eternity. Scholars said time is but the measure of motion, yet Allah has made it the container of destiny. And how strange it is, that what we are most given, we are most heedless of. The Prophet ﷺ warned us, 'There are two blessings which many people squander: health and free time.' Time is the relationship between things as they change. I am sitting here now; shortly, I will be over there. There is no such thing as time itself, only my perspective derived from how I change from place to place—and at times, even my projection, dependent upon my experience. This sensation of time is cyclical. Ponder, for a moment, the seasons. In comes spring, fresh like a newborn baby, clothed in dew and destined for bloom, glowing with the prospect of life, growing into a beautiful summer, dancing only temporarily beneath its whipping sun. Without warning or trumpet, autumn arrives. The leaves, once flush with youth, grow weary. Their colours dim, not from shame but from wisdom. Their zeal, once defiant, now leans into surrender. One by one, they let go—not out of despair, but dignity—falling like rusted stars onto a leaf-drenched ground already rich with memory. The earth becomes a canvas of loss and letting go, once vibrant, now subdued.” https://www.openmadrasa.org/season-for-awakening
