- 5 июл.Postdoctoral Researcher in Quantum Algorithms Within an interdisciplinary research project, you will develop and analyze quantum algorithms, demonstrating and systematically evaluating their applicability on quantum computers. Financial risk modeling serves as a concrete application domain; however, the algorithmic research is the primary focus. Deadline: 19.07.2026 Click here for more information.0,00%
- 5 июл.Training and Research in Italian Laboratories (TRIL) The TRIL Programme offers scientists from developing countries the opportunity to undertake training and research in an Italian laboratory in different branches of the physical sciences. The aim of the programme is to promote, through direct contacts and side-by-side high-level research, collaborations between the Italian scientific community and individuals, groups and institutions in developing countries. This programme thus addresses an important aspect of the mission of ICTP, namely to help form and strengthen a permanent scientific expertise in developing countries, cognisant of local needs and resources and of the frontiers of science and technology, and to provide support towards a sustainable capacity in basic and applied research that can help their nations' progress. - 5 июл.HECAP call for 2026 Short-term Visits The ICTP High Energy, Cosmology and Astroparticle Physics (HECAP) Section offers every year a number of grants for short-term visits. The purpose of the visits is to perform theoretical studies in HECAP's areas of expertise and in close interaction with the Section's resident staff and visiting scientists. Short-term visits may be for a maximum period of 3 months. Deadline: 15 Aug 2026 Click here for more information.0,00%
- 28 июн.PhD in Theoretical Quantum Physics The Quantum Dynamics of Control (QDC) group led by Prof. Aurelia Chenu at the University of Luxembourg has an opening for a PhD position. The candidate will be integrated into a dynamics research team and have the opportunity to drive a project. See our group and research: chenulab.com. In addition, the Department of Physics and Material Science (DPhyMS) is starting a doctoral training unit in quantum physics (https://quancom.uni.lu). This will offer the candidate a broad background in theoretical quantum physics. In particular, the candidate will have targeted graduate courses and the chance to be embedded within a higher structure. This can foster interaction with other groups at DPhyMS and will create a vibrant environment. Click here for more information.0,00%
- 28 июн.Postdoctoral Research Associate The Functional Materials and Devices Laboratory in the Department of Physics is looking to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Associate (PDRA) to work on an EPSRC-funded project developing vapour-deposited perovskite thin films for high-efficiency multijunction solar cells. The successful candidate will engineer novel precursor materials and commission a state-of-the-art physical vapor deposition (PVD) system in the new Strand labs, located in central London, in collaboration with industry partners (Kurt J. Lesker) to enable scalable manufacturing of complex alloyed perovskite compositions. Deadline: 19 July 2026 Click here for more information.0,00%
- 28 июн.Postdoctoral Research Associate in AI for Equitable Disease Modelling The PDRA will lead the development of new computational and mathematical models to quantify and predict infectious disease risk, particularly for identifying high risk individuals and groups. The PDRA will translate conceptual frameworks into mathematical models of complex cross-scale disease dynamics across different epidemiological scenarios. A key responsibility is to test key assumptions about differential disease risk by integrating high-resolution socio-ecological, environmental, and novel health data from individual and population sources. This research will advance our understanding of how major infectious diseases of concern in the UK emerge, spread, and unequally affect different individuals and population groups. - 13 июн.PhD Studentship: Machine Learning for Probabilistic Modelling of Non-equilibrium Time Series Beyond the Markovian Paradigm The overarching aim of this project is to find synergies between methods and ideas of modern machine learning and of statistical mechanics for the study of stochastic dynamics with application to the analysis of time series. In particular, the project will examine and develop methods that go beyond the Markovian paradigm. It will consider a range of time series data, focusing on those that show challenging properties of uncertainty, irregularity and mixed-modality. It will examine a range of models and techniques that go beyond Markovian approaches, including state-space models, tensor networks, and machine learning frameworks such as recurrent neural networks and transformers. Models and datasets will be studied and benchmarked in key tasks relating to both prediction/forecasting and anomaly detection. Comparison with known analytic methods and established Markov models will be made wherever possible. Expected outcomes include a unified non-Markovian framework for time series analysis, a suite of relevant datasets, and large-scale statistical studies comparing different methods. Deadline: Open until the position is filled. Click here for more information.0,00%
