So many have been forced to leave their homes, their schools, their friends, and everything they’ve ever known. Just when they begin to adjust to a new place, life changes again. There is very little stability, and that’s what children need the most. Many of them are also growing up without their fathers because they’re serving on the front lines or have been killed in the war. It’s easy to notice the destroyed buildings and damaged roads, but the hardest part of this war is the impact it has on the next generation. Those are the scars that will last long after the fighting is over.1,49%

- 22 маяUkraine 🇺🇦 Living through war brings trauma. Ears become sensitive to noise, loud sounds make people jump, and fear can easily take hold of the mind. Recently, one evening, our city was under heavy attack, so we went to the basement of our shelter for safety. At one point, there was a loud explosion, and I heard an IDP woman scream. She is blind and was very frightened. Fear consumed her. Her son and husband were trying to calm her down and help her get safely to the basement. A little later, a young mother came downstairs carrying her 5-month-old baby in her arms. Together, we sat in the basement and waited. Eventually, things settled. The IDPs returned to their rooms, while we stayed and slept in the basement. That night reminded me more personally of the fear and trauma this war has brought upon Ukrainian civilians. This has been the reality for the people of Ukraine for four years. Four years of fear, uncertainty, and sleep deprived nights. The sad reality is, even when the war ends, the effects of trauma will remain for many people. But Scripture offers hope. It reminds us that fear can be overcome through faith, prayer, and trust in God’s love and power. #Ukraine #UkraineWar #InternationalCrisisResponse #HumanitarianAid #HumanitarianCrisis #Hope #PCCR0,96%
- 14 авг.Ukraine 🇺🇦 We evacuated a young woman, her son, and her elderly parents. Her father was bedfast, while her mother, though elderly, was still able to help care for her grandson. This young woman carries the weight of all the responsibilities that come with leaving her home and resettling her family somewhere new. Yet, despite all that she has to carry, she patiently cares not only for her family but for everyone around her. She insists on helping me with the cleaning at the shelter. She always greets me with a smile and asks how I’m doing. I have yet to see her discouraged. She carries herself with incredible strength and tenacity. That is what always seems to surprise me most—how resilient people can be. No matter how difficult the circumstances become, it seems that hope is one of the hardest things to get rid of. Amazing, is it not?0,84%
- 8 маяUkraine 🇺🇦 Recently, the evil of war has become more personal as I’ve heard the stories of people I know. This week, a Ukrainian volunteer we work with lost her friend, who was only 19 years old. He was a university student, and his residence was struck in an attack. Another young woman, also just 19, who is currently staying at our shelter, lost both of her parents two years ago when a drone hit their home, killing them. She is now a single mother with very little support. A 17-year-old boy, whose younger sister is at our shelter, is currently in the hospital. He was simply out collecting firewood when a drone strike hit, leading to his arm being amputated. Death from natural disasters is beyond human control, but death from war is not. War is human-inflicted and, in many ways, avoidable. Yet the hunger for power, money, and control continues to drive people toward evil, costing thousands of innocent lives. Although there is much heartbreak right now, Scripture offers hope. Isaiah 2:4 paints a future where war no longer exists, where human conflict gives way to worldwide peace. It offers a message of hope. Until then, let us do our part to fight evil with love. #Ukraine #UkraineWar #InternationalCrisisResponse #HumanitarianAid #HumanitarianCrisis #Hope #PCCR0,67%
- 15 маяUkraine 🇺🇦 Some moments remind us exactly why we are here. Recently, we evacuated an older gentleman from a town near the front lines. He had his own vehicle, but because of medical issues he wasn’t able to drive very far. We brought him back to our shelter, planning to take him to his next destination the following day. But because of conflicting schedules, those plans changed, and we decided to wait until the beginning of the next week. Looking back now, it’s clear that delay was part of God’s plan. That Sunday, he attended church with our chaplain, and there he gave his heart to Jesus. The next morning, I drove him and his car to Kyiv. We didn’t talk much during the trip because of the language barrier, but about halfway there he pulled out his new Bible and quietly held it in his hands for a while. It was a simple moment, but a powerful reminder of why we do what we do. Yes, we help evacuate people from danger. Yes, we bring aid and practical support. But more than anything, we want people to experience the love of Jesus and come to know Him personally. This time, we were blessed to witness it firsthand. #Ukraine #UkraineWar #InternationalCrisisResponse #HumanitarianAid #HumanitarianCrisis #Hope #PCCR0,59%
