Gulchehra Tashpulatovna Kabulniyazova is a Professor at the National University of Uzbekistan (NUUz) with over 41 years of professional experience in philosophy and academic life. She completed her postgraduate studies at NUUz in 1987, specializing in Ontology, Epistemology, and Logic, and went on to earn the degree of Candidate of Philosophical Sciences (1991), the academic title of Associate Professor (2005), and the Doctor of Philosophical Sciences (DSc) (2023) — a dissertation on Western Philosophy she began in 2010 and defended in 2022. Throughout her career, she has authored 4 sole-authored textbooks, 3 instructional manuals, and 6 educational-methodological compendiums, all actively used in the national curriculum today. What defines her story, however, is her extraordinary resilience. In 1998, she lost her sight in both eyes, briefly stepping away from her career — only to return a year later with unbreakable determination. With the support of her former students, she mastered the NVDA screen-reading program, reclaiming her independence and continuing her academic work. Her journey inspired two television features on the Sevimli channel: "Sinmas Iroda" (2018) and "Birgamiz" (2022). She herself considers the years following her vision loss to be the most meaningful of her life — a period of overcoming, growth, and dedication to both her family and her students. .

We grew up believing connection meant constant noise - endless scrolling, endless updates, endless distractions. Surrounded by screens, crowded streets, and passing trends, we slowly forgot how silence can bring people closer. Maybe real connection was never hidden in the noise. Maybe it was always in the moments, feelings, and people we failed to cherish. Join us on 23 May at TEDxTSUL. “Cherishing What Remains”

You ask who I am? Genius. Billionaire. Philanthropist. But no one ever asks - where did it all begin? Not in a boardroom. Not at the top. It started with an idea. A moment of doubt. A step onto a stage. Every journey begins somewhere. TEDxTSUL is where ideas take their first step - where voices grow stronger, and confidence turns into impact. Maybe today you’re just a student with an idea. But tomorrow? That could be your story. TEDxTSUL is accepting speaker applications. If you have something to say - this is your moment to start. We welcome speakers in multiple languages - including Russian and Uzbek. Because powerful ideas deserve to be heard by everyone. Start where it matters. Start now!
