The German Junkers Ju 87 Stuka became famous for the terrifying sound it made when diving to attack. This sound was produced by a device called the “Jericho Trumpet,” a siren mounted near the aircraft’s landing gear that was blown by the air current as it dived. The purpose of the siren was psychological warfare, that is, to instill fear and panic among soldiers and civilians even before the bombs hit their targets. Despite their great psychological impact, these sirens also had disadvantages. They increased air resistance, slowed the aircraft down, and made the Stuka easier to spot. However, the Stuka’s eerie sound became one of the most well-known psychological warfare tools of World War II, demonstrating that fear itself could sometimes be a weapon.

Panzer Divisions were the elite armored formations of the German Wehrmacht during World War II. The word “Panzer” means “armor” or “armored vehicle” in German. These divisions were the core of Germany’s Blitzkrieg (Lightning War) strategy, which relied on speed, surprise, and the concentrated use of armored forces to break enemy lines and achieve rapid victories. A Panzer Division was not made up of tanks alone. It was a combined-arms force that included tanks, motorized infantry, artillery, reconnaissance units, engineers, anti-aircraft units, and logistical support. This structure allowed Panzer Divisions to operate independently and conduct fast-moving offensive operations. During the early years of World War II, Panzer Divisions played a decisive role in the invasions of Poland (1939), France (1940), and the Soviet Union (1941). Their ability to penetrate enemy defenses, encircle opposing forces, and maintain high mobility made them one of the most feared military formations of the era.

The German remotely controlled unmanned tracked vehicle “Goliath” (Leichter Ladungsträger Goliath), reportedly used during the Second World War — The vehicle was said to have been designed to transport 60, 75, and up to 100 kg of explosives in order to destroy tanks, fortifications, bridges, and infantry positions. It was reportedly operated remotely through a wired control system connected to a handheld control box. The Goliath was reportedly deployed by German engineering and sapper units, as well as specialized Panzer-Abteilung (Funklenk) units, between 1942 and 1945. It was produced in two main variants: the electric-powered Sd.Kfz. 302 and the gasoline-powered Sd.Kfz. 303 a/b.
