“Eclipses are periods of accelerated change where a lot can happen all at once, and I also want to note people tend to fear eclipses because of this, but it doesn’t always mean the change is going to be bad. It can be exactly the change you needed , or you've been waiting for. This month be a period where something ends and something begins. Your life can suddenly move much faster than you expected. Maybe something hidden comes to light or something that's been sitting in the unconscious suddenly becomes impossible to ignore. Plans can change, one door opens, maybe another door may open that you didn't even know was available. An eclipse can keep affecting us months, or even years later. We just want to be aware that this is something that can shift the trajectory of our lives if it does affect us. I don't think the best way to approach an eclipse is by trying to predict exactly what's going to happen. It's much more useful to become incredibly observant. This is not a good time to death scroll or distract yourself on social media. Pay attention to omens, pay attention to signs, pay attention to synchronicities, pay attention to your dreams, pay attention to your life, pay attention to your inner world. We always want someone outside of us to tell us what's going to happen or we act like how the eclipse is affecting the world is going to show up on the Twitter timeline. But as far as your own personal life goes, you need to look within.” -Laura Matsue Episode 180 – August Eclipse Season: Endings, Beginnings & Fated Turning Points Listen to this podcast episode by clicking the link below or by searching Cosmic Matrix on iTunes, Spotify, or any other podcast streamer. https://veilofreality.com/2026/08/09/august-eclipse-season-endings-beginnings-fated-turning-points-tcm-180-part-1 @timeoftransition
“The true measure of how developed one’s soul is and how integrated and embodied we are is mirrored by how we react to everyday circumstances. It shows itself in our emotional reactions (or dissociation, numbness, suppression) and how easily we get triggered. Thus, we blame others and external conditions or project our unconscious shadow onto others. The point of spiritual, psychological, and somatic work is not about eliminating challenges (even though they might be alleviated to some degree) but rather about how we change and transform by facing life directly and use any challenge to bring forth the true Self and bring us closer to God. Thus, we become less identified with ego structure, more “objective” about ourselves and the world (we stop lying to ourselves or keep blaming the external world) and face any challenge with full self-responsibility and empowerment. This process is also the gateway to real Love. Childish and immature love is conditional and demands attention and validation from others. If it doesn’t get what it wants, it blames others for it or itself for not “being good enough,” getting stuck in self-pity, poor-me, shame, self-importance, entitlement, and narcissism. Mature higher love is unconditional, takes self-responsibility, and loves even if it doesn’t get what it wants or prefers. We all have the immature child within us, acting out at various times. In fact, most adults are children in adult suits. If we can spot it, it’s a chance to heal this wounded child, which can also relate to past life trauma and not necessarily relate to your current childhood in your present lifetime. This [inner] child needs to experience, express, and feel repressed emotions such as sadness, fear, anger, guilt, shame, etc., without projecting them externally or suppressing them. This process needs to happen somatically—through the body. You cannot think yourself through it, as this only results in more self-deception. Intellectual recognition of your “issues” is not enough and is only the beginning of a much deeper emotional and somatic inner process. In fact, your intellect can fool you into thinking that you are doing “self-work,” but you can waste many years of intellectualizing the process. Moreover, there is only so much self-work you can do by yourself.” -Bernhard Guenther Episode 97, Part 2 – 12 Signs You Have A Wounded Inner Child and How to Heal To listen to this exclusive podcast, check the link below to sign up for our private membership section, where you will have access to over 175+ hours of *uncensored* podcasts where we dive much deeper and speak about topics that we can’t speak about on social media anymore. 👉 Sign up to tune into the full episode here: https://veilofreality.com/membership @timeoftransition
“August contains two very different eclipse stories. First, we have this south node solar eclipse in Leo. This is about the release of an old identity, an old way of seeking validation, an old role, maybe an old way you learned to dim yourself, or a way that you feel like you’re still needing attention or approval to feel safe expressing who you actually are. Because this is the beginning of this Leo–Aquarius eclipse story, what is being released now may actually be making room for a larger chapter that’s meant to unfold over the next couple of years. Then on August 27th/28th, we have this north node lunar eclipse in Pisces, and this eclipse has a very different feeling. Something is coming in and pulling us forward, but it’s doing that while simultaneously bringing us towards the end of a Virgo–Pisces story that’s been unfolding since September. August sits at this threshold, with one eclipse cycle beginning and another ending. The old story and the new story are overlapping, and that means some of us may experience a mixture of beginnings and endings almost happening simultaneously on top of each other. You may not even know what the new chapter is yet. You might simply know that there’s some old story, some old way of living that you need to let go of. As we move through this eclipse season, here’s some questions you can reflect on: What has been changing in your life since September 2024? Is there a repeating emotional, relational, spiritual, health, or work theme that’s followed you through this entire Virgo/Pisces eclipse cycle? What now feels like it’s coming very close to completion? What are you being asked to surrender, rather than trying to control, so you can look towards the new story? Is there an identity, a role, a way of expressing yourself that you’re beginning to outgrow? Where do you feel like you’re still performing rather than expressing your essence? Where have you been dimming your light? Where are you ready to stop doing things for validation, and start doing things for the pure joy of doing it? And perhaps most importantly, what could the endings in your life be trying to make room for? You may not necessarily know the answer yet but pay attention to this month. Pay attention to what is unexpected, to what is ending, to sudden changes of direction. Especially pay attention to anything that feels like life is suddenly saying, “you’re going to be doing this now,” because that acceleration is one of the signatures of eclipse season.” -Laura Matsue Episode 180 – August Eclipse Season: Endings, Beginnings & Fated Turning Points Listen to this podcast episode by clicking the link below or by searching Cosmic Matrix on iTunes, Spotify, or any other podcast streamer. https://veilofreality.com/2026/08/09/august-eclipse-season-endings-beginnings-fated-turning-points-tcm-180-part-1 @timeoftransition
“You will feel the eclipse energy right now. This is not just a single-day event; it’s a whole season we are in. One of the primary themes of eclipses is they tend to bring radical and irrevocable change. They don’t just ease you into the changes they bring into your life; instead, it feels like the rug has been pulled out from underneath you. They tend to be turning points that you'll look back on years later and say, “wow, that's when a lot shifted in my life.” Unlike a normal transit, especially an outer planet transit, which can build over time, and you might work with it a bit more consciously. Eclipse energy is when a lot happens all at once, and it tends to feel very fated, like the decision was already made for this change to happen in your life in this moment of time a long time ago, maybe even pre-birth. Huge beginnings and endings can happen under eclipses: births of babies, people get engaged, people get married, people have a big career moment, major moves, major deaths and loss. These are the big events of life that seem to color eclipse season, and it feels like in an eclipse season, that time is compressed. Things that maybe seemed far away are now suddenly happening on our doorstep, and plans we thought would happen at some point in the future are suddenly happening now. Endings under eclipses will often feel very abrupt, like it all just happened all at once, and you’re left in the aftermath trying to process it and make meaning after the fact.” -Laura Matsue Episode 180 – August Eclipse Season: Endings, Beginnings & Fated Turning Points Listen to this podcast episode by clicking the link below or by searching Cosmic Matrix on iTunes, Spotify, or any other podcast streamer. https://veilofreality.com/2026/08/09/august-eclipse-season-endings-beginnings-fated-turning-points-tcm-180-part-1 @timeoftransition
August 2026 brings a powerful eclipse season, with a total solar eclipse in Leo on August 12 followed by a lunar eclipse in Pisces on August 27/28. Eclipses have long been associated with accelerated change, major beginnings and endings, unexpected developments, revelations, and turning points that can alter the direction of our lives. What makes this month especially interesting is that two larger eclipse events are overlapping. We are beginning a new Leo–Aquarius eclipse cycle while simultaneously approaching the end of the Virgo–Pisces cycle that began in September 2024. Something old is coming to a close while a new cycle is beginning. In our latest Cosmic Matrix podcast, we explore: - Why eclipses can coincide with sudden and seemingly “fated” turning points - The astrology of both August eclipses, the major aspects surrounding them, and how to work with them - How to recognize what is being “eclipsed out” and “eclipsed into” your life - The larger eclipse cycles and their 19-year repeating patterns - Dos and don’ts for navigating eclipse season - The August eclipses through all 12 rising signs and how it affects you We also share some personal experiences of how dramatically eclipse cycles can manifest in our own lives. Rather than trying to predict exactly what will happen, eclipse season is a powerful time to pay close attention and consciously align with the energies and cycles. What is ending? What are you being asked to release? What are you still attached to? What is suddenly coming into your life? And what might the ending of one chapter be making room for? “A shame-based personality is always monitoring itself, continuously asking, “Am I good enough? Am I too much? Do they approve of me?” So many people do this all the time. Life becomes less about authentic expression and more about impression management, which destroys spontaneity. One of John Bradshaw’s central insights is that toxic shame destroys spontaneity completely because the playful, curious, creative child gradually disappears into the background, into the unconscious. Instead of expressing ourselves truthfully and authentically, we start to edit ourselves, and ultimately shame disconnects us from ourselves, because the False Self grows stronger. We lose more contact with our inner experience and our essence. We stop trusting our feelings. We don’t even know what our needs are anymore. We doubt our perceptions, we suppress our gifts, and we trust ourselves less and less. And as an extension, we trust life and other people less.” -Bernhard Guenther Episode 179 – The True Self, The False Self, and Finding Yourself Again Listen to this podcast episode by clicking the link below or by searching Cosmic Matrix on iTunes, Spotify, or any other podcast streamer. https://veilofreality.com/2026/07/24/the-true-self-the-false-self-and-finding-yourself-again-tcm-179-part-1 @timeoftransition
“After World War II, Jung said that the greatest danger facing humanity was not the atom bomb; it was human beings’ inability to recognize their own shadow, and that a nation convinced of its own righteousness is unable to see its own darkness and will always try to find somewhere to put it. They’ll find a group, a leader, an ideology, and an enemy out there to pursue with the full force of everything they refuse to look at within. We don’t have to go far to see this operating today; social media is perhaps the most effective projection machine ever invented. Platforms are algorithmically engineered to amplify emotional charge and create this environment where we see this scapegoat dynamic playing out in real time on a global scale with millions of people participating in it and no one pointing out the elephant in the room. Then a person, a public figure, is identified as the carrier of the collective shadow, and the pile-on begins. These are people you have never even met and really know nothing about. Sometimes we even elevate people who are complete strangers, and they go viral, and we participate in their destruction with an intensity that has nothing to do with the actual offense, because we didn’t even know this person. We’re just participating in what’s called a loosh fest. And it’s a relief because we finally have somewhere to put something that we cannot face in ourselves. Then a week later the internet forgets, and it happens to someone else. There’s a new person who we’re outraged about, and we pile on, and it repeats ad infinitum. The gold keeps bouncing along, and the shadow keeps finding new hosts, and the inner work that would actually address the key issue is never going to happen with the masses; they will always follow the urges of the unconscious. They become part of the egregore, and the mechanism ensures there’s always going to be a new target. It’s not about electing a new leader or a better leader. It’s not about better policies or defeating the enemy. It ends when enough individuals are willing to turn the projection around and ask, what is the intensity of my feeling about this person, this group, this ideology telling me about myself, and what have I put out there that actually belongs in here?” -Laura Matsue Episode 173 – Why We Put People on Pedestals: The Golden Shadow Listen to this podcast episode by clicking the link below or by searching Cosmic Matrix on iTunes, Spotify, or any other podcast streamer. https://veilofreality.com/2026/04/18/why-we-put-people-on-pedestals-the-golden-shadow-tcm-173-part-1 @timeoftransition
“One of the biggest realizations I've had to face and accept is that not everyone is "ready" to wake up, nor will there be a collective awakening anytime soon, for there are vastly different levels of being and soul potential among 8+ billion people on this planet and that there is also nothing wrong with it in light of the evolution of consciousness. We are all one, but we're not all the same. As the esoteric axiom states: "There is no such thing as equality in the entire universe.” No one can be awakened by another, nor can anyone force another to "wake up." Free will needs to be respected, even if it is the "free will" to stay asleep (dreaming to be awake). You can only "give" to the ones who "ask" sincerely and spread some seeds of awareness. Some may blossom, some won't. The ones of us who are sincerely engaged in the awakening process and truth-seeking know that it is far from easy for a true awakening goes way beyond any intellectual/external understanding of the Matrix, which usually ends up externalizing all evil - a trap in itself. It takes inner struggle, conscious suffering, effort, integrity, self-responsibility, radical self-honesty, and sincerity with patience and humility to cross the threshold out of the ego slumber of the false/conditioned personality to awaken and free oneself from the entropic forces of the matrix which also work through us. It's not what most New Age/corrupted spiritual teachings and motivational self-help advocates talk about who promise you health, wealth, love, and bliss. It's not a "mindset" our about "being the best you can be.” Awakening” is also not about self-actualization, chasing dreams, seeking pleasure, and fulfilling desires, nor is it simply about being an “individual” or a self-improvement program but becoming INDIVIDUATED (big difference). The former is still a slave to the ego personality with all its desires; the latter has become a vessel for God and merged personal will with Divine Will, acting our God's Will beyond ego gratification.” -Bernhard Guenther Episode 121, Part 2 – How Can We Wake Up Others? “The idea that your thoughts completely create your reality is based on the false premise that your conscious waking mind is in itself the master of the universe. While our thoughts do affect how we perceive reality and those perceptions shape our actions, there is a deeper guiding intelligence to life that goes beyond the mind alone. There are things that you did not think of that will happen, and there are many cases of Divine grace blessing someone who feels they are in an unredeemable situation. This is because the mind is meant to be a servant of that deeper intelligence, and it can work with it or against it. There is a lifeline, which some call God, that connects deeply to our soul and guides the course of events in our lives. We have a lot of choice in how we respond to those events, but there is an element of mystery to life that once you notice it, your mind cannot help but be humbled, bow down, and surrender. When the mind gets into contact with this deeper lifeline of the soul and its connection to God, we live the life that we find most fulfilling, and the mind will naturally follow. At that point, there is no need to force ourselves to think positively, because our mind is now working in deep service and communion with the soul, God and life itself.” -Laura Matsue Episode 176 – Personal Will Vs: Divine Will: From Striving to Surrender Listen to this podcast episode by clicking the link below or by searching Cosmic Matrix on iTunes, Spotify, or any other podcast streamer. https://veilofreality.com/2026/06/08/personal-will-vs-divine-will-from-striving-to-surrender-tcm-176-part-1 @timeoftransition
What we are living through is not merely another political, social, or economic crisis, but the end of an age and a profound spiritual transition. New video: The Time of Transition - The End of an Age and the Birth of a New Humanity: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sxn8tuhN_uE This is the first installment in a new series of audiovisual narrated essays for those who prefer listening rather than reading. In this presentation, I explore the deeper meaning and larger context of the Time of Transition we are currently living through: the end of an age, the forces shaping this period, the challenges we face, the task before us, and the possibility of a new humanity emerging through it. Drawing on Boris Mouravieff's Esoteric Christian teachings, the Integral Yoga of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother, the Yuga Cycle, and other ancient cosmological traditions, I examine the deeper spiritual and evolutionary process unfolding in our time. Topics include: - The collective dark night of the soul - The Great Year and the end of the Kali Yuga - The rise of evil and hostile forces - The Ekpyrosis phase and cosmic purification - The alchemy of inner transformation - The Divine Gnostic Being - The splitting of humanity - Spiritual warfare and the battle for the human being - The birth of a new, spiritualized humanity You can watch it or simply listen while walking, driving, or relaxing. If it resonates with you, feel free to leave a comment and share it with anyone who may benefit from it. Godspeed. Bernhard
“We need to differentiate between guilt and shame. Healthy guilt says, I did something wrong, my behavior violated my values; I need to make amends. But toxic shame says, I am wrong, or there’s something fundamentally wrong with me because I made a mistake. The person becomes shame-based, and then they organize their entire personality around hiding this imagined defect. Shame then becomes the core identity of the person, rather than occasionally feeling ashamed, which is normal, healthy feeling. Children are biologically wired to preserve attachment with caregivers, so when faced with the choice between losing the attachment or losing themselves, the child almost always sacrifices themselves. Instead of questioning the parent, the child questions themselves; instead of concluding, my parents cannot love me as I am, they conclude there must be something wrong with me. The False Self becomes the personality that develops around this conclusion. And then over time, the voice of the parents, teachers, religious authorities, and culture becomes internalized. The child no longer needs someone else to criticize them; they begin to do it to themselves. That’s the birth of the intense inner critic, which is based on internalized shame. The external critic becomes the internal critic. You internalize the voice of your father or your mother, who didn’t accept you, and then it turns into self-criticism lasting into adulthood.” -Bernhard Guenther Episode 179 – The True Self, the False Self, and Finding Yourself Again Listen to this podcast episode by clicking the link below or by searching Cosmic Matrix on iTunes, Spotify, or any other podcast streamer. https://veilofreality.com/2026/07/24/the-true-self-the-false-self-and-finding-yourself-again-tcm-179-part-1 @timeoftransition
“When people age, and their hearts have closed and hardened from the decades of suppressed emotions in their bodies, their shadows will become denser, uglier, and more hostile with time. Their unhealed pain is like a black cloud that follows them silently, that they’re waiting to offload onto anyone they meet who triggers them. When people age and do so with grace and an open heart, you can see in their eyes a light that shows they’ve loved deeply, have lost deeply, and every experience that has broken open their hearts has transformed their souls. They gain emotional wisdom from their unique soul experiences. They become faithful elders - wisdom and beacons of light for their community. You can see that wisdom etched on their face. We all have a choice to become that light for others or that black cloud, depending on what we do in middle age. You either become wiser and lighter with time or more suppressed and darker with time depending on how you live your life now. We have a lot of choice in how we respond to those events, but there is an element of mystery to life that once you notice it, your mind cannot help but be humbled, bow down, and surrender.” -Laura Matsue Episode 126, Part 2 – How to Live a More Authentic Life To listen to this exclusive podcast, check the link below to sign up for our private membership section, where you will have access to over 175+ hours of *uncensored* podcasts where we dive much deeper and speak about topics that we can’t speak about on social media anymore. 👉 Sign up to tune into the full episode here: https://veilofreality.com/membership @timeoftransition
“The False Self is not who you truly are, it is the personality that you unconsciously constructed as a survival strategy. If you want to use Jung’s language, we can compare the False Self to what he calls the Persona, which is the social mask worn by the ego, the little “I” as it relates to the outside world. Having a Persona or a mask is not the problem; every healthy human being has one. Society requires a certain amount of Persona. We put different masks on; we play different roles, be it a teacher, parent, friend, therapist, husband, wife, whatever it may be. However, the problem begins when the mask stops being something we wear and becomes something we believe ourselves to be. It’s when we become highly identified with it and mistake it for who we truly are. When our Persona develops in opposition to our authentic nature, essence, and True Self, rather than as an expression of it, we put a strong mask on to hide how we really feel, and that’s why we develop the False Self. The False Self is fundamentally inauthentic and shame based. Rather than growing from our true inner nature, it grows out of fear. It tends to be compliant with what others expect us to be, fearful and distrustful of the world.” -Bernhard Guenther Episode 179 – The True Self, the False Self, and Finding Yourself Again Listen to this podcast episode by clicking the link below or by searching Cosmic Matrix on iTunes, Spotify, or any other podcast streamer. https://veilofreality.com/2026/07/24/the-true-self-the-false-self-and-finding-yourself-again-tcm-179-part-1 @timeoftransition
“If we have unresolved trauma or a major shadow part we haven't looked at and integrated, it has a lot of pull and energy. It's full of emotion and very instinctual and impulsive, with a lot of control over us. There is a psychic gravity to it. Since it has so much energy, gravity, and psychic draw, we subconsciously identify with those parts and don't even realize it. We become identified with the trauma and live it out. We don't realize there's more to our being, and that's the whole problem with not looking at these aspects. If you identify with all the feelings and thoughts of your trauma, that's a terrible place to be. You think the world is a bad place, people can't be trusted, and they will only hurt you. You can also feel like you are a bad person and fundamentally flawed. These are the thoughts and beliefs that come when you identify with a traumatized part. I know because I lived that. The more we identify with these parts, the more they affect our whole field, and this typically happens unconsciously for most people.” -Laura Matsue Episode 134, Part 2 – Unveiling the Psyche: Sub-Personalities and Invisible Influences on the Mind To listen to this exclusive podcast, check the link below to sign up for our private membership section, where you will have access to over 175+ hours of *uncensored* podcasts where we dive much deeper and speak about topics that we can’t speak about on social media anymore. 👉 Sign up to tune into the full episode here: https://veilofreality.com/membership @timeoftransition
“The True Self refers to a part of us that we were naturally before we learned we had to be someone else. It is naturally spontaneous, authentic, loving, accepting, and creative. It’s our True Self that will experience a full spectrum of human emotion; it can feel joy, grief, anger, and fear, without believing that any of those feelings make us defective. It allows feelings to move through us as a natural expression of being alive and being a human being. The True Self is also capable of healthy assertiveness. You allow yourself to speak up for what you feel, make boundaries, and say what you think without guilt. Your True Self feels fundamentally worthy to express itself, and also trusts that relationships can survive you being honest with them because the True Self feels fundamentally safe to exist. The True Self is playful; it enjoys laughing and creativity. It’s affectionate, open to intimacy, and doesn’t constantly monitor itself, question its actions, or overthink things. It simply participates spontaneously. It’s the True Self that’s also open to intuition and the unconscious, because ultimately, when the True Self is open rather than defended, it becomes the gateway to something larger than the ego. You call that your higher self, spirit, God, a deeper level of consciousness. It’s the True Self that connects to something greater than itself. Reconnecting with our True Self is not just a psychological process; it’s essentially a spiritual journey. Jung would call this building the I-Self access; the “I” being our personal self, connected with the higher capital “S” self, the higher self, God.” -Laura Matsue Episode 179 – The True Self, the False Self, and Finding Yourself Again Listen to this podcast episode by clicking the link below or by searching Cosmic Matrix on iTunes, Spotify, or any other podcast streamer. https://veilofreality.com/2026/07/24/the-true-self-the-false-self-and-finding-yourself-again-tcm-179-part-1 @timeoftransition
Are You Living as Your True Self? Many people live with the unsettling feeling that they are not fully living as themselves. Others are so identified with the False Self that they are not even aware that they have lost touch with who they truly are. Outwardly, everything may appear normal or even successful, and they may project a “happy” image to others, especially on social media, while constantly seeking approval and validation. Yet inwardly, they may feel disconnected, emotionally numb, or trapped in roles built around safety, other people’s expectations, and the need to be accepted. In our newest podcast episode, Laura and I explore the difference between the True Self and the False Self, and how the False Self develops through childhood adaptation, attachment wounds, shame, and emotional neglect. We also examine how it can eventually take over our identity, leading us to pursue aims and desires that are not aligned with who we truly are. Finally, we explore how to begin recovering the True Self beneath those adaptations by grieving what was lost, reconnecting with the body and emotions, developing healthier boundaries, cultivating self-compassion, and gradually allowing the True Self to emerge through authenticity and safe relationships. “Memory is like a thread to our greater depth. Why do people not follow it? It’s like the way the occult is portrayed in horror films, vampires and evil magicians possessing people, rather than a genuine ritualized attempt to engage higher insight or higher power. To follow the thread to the depth of the psyche, we must be prepared to encounter whatever we come across, including that which kept us away from depth or from truth. Long-term memory holds all sorts of things, including psychic events of real intensity, including trauma, when something was so intense it knocked your centering completely offline. That is a psychologically pragmatic definition of trauma: something that knocked you out, on whatever level. So long-term memory is going to hold these events of psychic intensity. This is where we encounter the memories of what we could call trauma, the pain and the loss of what happened to us. For a deeper holistic engagement, to journey through what Jung might have called the shadow, toward some greater depth, to find your way through the darkness to the inner teacher, you have to open to all the parts of yourself that turned away from reality because it was unbearable. And that includes acknowledging both events in this life that have been deeply painful or shaped you, and the subtle resonances within past memory.” -Mark Jones Episode 174 – Uranus in Gemini: A Turning Point in Human Consciousness w/ Mark Jones Listen to this podcast episode by clicking the link below or by searching Cosmic Matrix on iTunes, Spotify, or any other podcast streamer. https://veilofreality.com/2026/05/04/uranus-in-gemini-a-turning-point-in-human-consciousness-w-mark-jones-tcm-174-part-1 @timeoftransition
“The dark night of the soul is often precipitated by a crisis: a breakup, a death, a loss of some sort, a betrayal. This crisis eventually leads to a loss of meaning, where you can’t feel joy in the aspects of your life that used to fulfill you. This is different from a typical grieving process or temporary experience of sadness. The dark night of the soul strikes something deeper and shakes the core of your existence. The dark night of the soul relates to a process of “purification.” You are being purified in the fire of darkness. The loss of meaning that accompanies the dark night can eventually lead you to reexamine the way you have lived your life until now. Although this loss of meaning can be extremely uncomfortable, if you stay with it, it can also lead you to a profound transformation. The deep transformation that the dark night of the soul can offer is that it can liberate you from many of the false parts of yourself to live a more authentic life. You must lose the false self to find the true self. It can often take months or years for this process to complete itself. If you are going through a dark night of the soul, you must have faith that the darkness has a purpose. We live in a world that aggressively tries to “fix” dark nights of the soul, and if you try and make the dark night go away prematurely and force yourself to be “happy” again, it can stall and prolong the process. Instead, engage with your dark night fully and use it as an opportunity to explore your internal life. Be encouraged by the idea that on the other side of the dark night of the soul is a new, more authentic, deeper relationship to yourself, to others, and to life itself. The dark night helps you let go of all your false selves so you can step into a more authentic version of yourself. “Whatever happens in your life, the question is, what is it trying to tell you? If there's a breakdown, if there is destruction, there's a bigger process unfolding that works in your favor if you can surrender to it. When you see how it is reflected in your psyche, you begin to understand that there is a deeper call that cannot be answered or resolved through rational thinking or problem solving by saying, “Oh, I just need to get rid of this. I just want to feel better.” This process requires an internal transformation, and that is what shadow work and individuation are all about. It's coming into alignment with something deeper and truer within yourself and your soul. The crisis we experience is like a dismemberment or destruction of the false ego personality, and with it goes the false life that many people have been living. It may not feel like it works in your favor. Speaking out of my own experience, it sucks. But if you stick with it and don't fall into the victim/blame trap or escapism or try to distract yourself and avoid the whole process, it’s a rite of passage and a transformation where a connection to the true self is being born.” -Bernhard Guenther Episode 146 – Soul Purpose vs. Ego Desires: Finding Your True Path Listen to this podcast episode by clicking the link below or by searching Cosmic Matrix on iTunes, Spotify, or any other podcast streamer. https://veilofreality.com/2025/01/17/soul-purpose-vs-ego-desires-finding-your-true-path-tcm-146-part-1 @timeoftransition
“Holding the tension of opposites is what Carl Jung said was necessary when working with polarization. To not identify with either side or the opposites will create friction and then offer a third path. Yet, so many people literally just flip flop between extreme forms of ego identification these days. You’re either a woke leftist or you’re a conservative Christian. You’re either on my side or against it. But there’s a distinct group that is arising who don’t identify with any group, -ism, or movement right now. You don’t have to fall into another group identification once you’ve lost your connection to one side. You don’t need to be one way or another. You don’t need to fall into another tribal identity once you’ve been exiled from the one you were in. Instead, you can instead use this feeling of not belonging to the current culture to discover the truth of who you really are. By discovering a third way, you break free of tribalism and offer a different path than the extreme opposites. You bring back unique gifts from discovering who you really are, which you can pour into the world to disrupt the current culture. A truly individuated soul is a tribe of one.” -Laura Matsue Related to Episode 130, Part 2 – How Can We Heal This Polarized World?
