Checklist for UPSC Prelims 2026 (few personal stuff too)✅ 1. Admit Card 2. ID – it should be that one which you mentioned on your admit card – Must keep the original 3. Must keep 2 passport size photo (even if your photo is fine with date and name as per instructions - You never know the mindset of examiner - no use of argumentation) 4. Simple Wrist Watch (not digital) 5. 2 Black Ball point pen (if you will ask at the stationary shop they can provide you with a pen espc used to fill bubbles. It has thick nib) 6. Transparent water bottle 7. Lunch/Chocholates etc. if you have habit of munching (PRECAUTION – IF EATING OUTSIDE– MAKE SURE – IT IS HYGIENIC) 8. Electrol(ors) – if any situation requires (it is hot outside) 9. You may keep Coffee pouches (simply mix in water - and drink - it will be not tasty - but works) – if you mind stop working during exam, it can awaken your mind 10. If your examination centre is in another city – reach there a day before & make sure to check exam centre one day before to avoid last minute hiccups.. 11. Handkerchief 12. Sanitary pads (for girls evn if you r not on periods it might come handy to some other girl) 13. Minimal cash + positive attitude +common sense .. 14.keep your last minute CSAT formula sheet/flash notes with you.. 15. You can carry print out of instructions page also - in case someone creates some issues, show them the instructions from UPSC. (Like if they do not allow you simple watch or water bottle, show them it is written in instructions and your watch/ bottle is matching the description given by official UPSC instructions). Make sure you reach your examination centre well before time.. Gates close 30 mins before the time. Approch it with higher degree of confidence and positive mindset.. Pressure is a privilege where opportunity comes to thrive and change your whole generations standard of living and contribute in Nation building act.. 📌 BUDDHIST COUNCILS 🌸 1st Buddhist Council ▪️Place: Rajgriha, Bihar Ruler: Ajatshatru ▪️Accomplishment: Buddha’s teachings were compiled into Sutta Pitaka (Ananda) and Vinaya Pitaka (Upali) 🌸 2nd Buddhist Council ▪️Place: Vaishali Ruler: Kalashoka (Shishunaga dynasty) ▪️Accomplishment: Buddhist sangha was divided into schools i.e. Theravadi or Sthavira and Mahasanghik or Sarvastivadin. ▪️Theravadi is the oldest Buddhist school with its main centre in Kashmir. ▪️Mahasanghik’s main center was in Magadha. 🌸 3rd Buddhist Council ▪️Place: Pataliputra Ruler: Ashoka ▪️Accomplishment: Compilation of the third pitaka i.e. Abhidhamma Pitaka which explains the tenets of Dhamma. 🌸 4th Buddhist Council ▪️Place: Kashmir Ruler: Kanishka ▪️Accomplishment: Compilation of Vibhashashastra by Vasumitra, a commentary in Sanskrit on the difficult aspects of Buddhist texts. ▪️Buddhists again broke into 2 schools i.e. Theravadi or Sthavira became Hinayana and Sarvastivadin or Mahasanghik became Mahayana schools.
