🐄 UrFU Graduates Created a System that Helps Farmers Out 👍Graduates of the Engineering School of Information Technologies, Telecommunications and Control Systems created and implemented a unique system that tracks cows' health. With this project, they won the All-Russian "Startup as a Diploma" competition. "At the moment, we have launched several modules – the weighing module, the chromatin determination module, and the identification itself. Now some enterprises have a thousand heads; however, only two or three veterinarians are working there. So, they can't physically walk around a thousand cows in a day, and the system, as it were, examines each cow individually several times a day," says Kirill Belotserkovsky, the author of the project. 💻The intelligent system uses computer vision and neural networks to monitor animals in real time – a zoo technician or veterinarian can assess both the health status of the entire herd and track the progress of a particular animal. ➖Watch the report by Vesti.Ural

💯 UrFU Entered the Top-10 Russian Universities for Admission 👍 The Ural Federal University took 9️⃣th place (rising by 19 positions) in the ranking of the best universities in the country for admission in 2026. 👩‍🎓 About 9,000 students and graduates from 47 universities in the country rated their universities on the quality of education, career opportunities, and readiness to enter the labor market. ⚡️A significant proportion of UrFU students enter the labor market even before graduation. By the time they graduate, many already have real professional experience. All this is the result of events conducted by the university: job fairs, workshops, trainings, meetings with company representatives.

🇮🇶 Kurdish World Federation Appoints UrFU Graduate to Lead Youth Portfolio 👍 Mohammed Al-Naqeeb, UrFU graduate, participated in a comprehensive meeting of the executive board and members of the Kurdish World Federation's Kirkuk centre. 👨‍🏫 During the meeting, the past activities and initiatives of the Federation were highlighted in detail. Concurrently, several proposals and strategic ideas regarding future work plans and upcoming projects were presented. ⚡️In a strategic move to empower the younger generation, the Federation announced the appointment of Mr. Mohammed Al-Naqeeb to manage the Youth Portfolio at the Kurdish World Federation's centre in Kirkuk. Mr. Al-Naqeeb brings a strong academic background to support the federation's vision of development for youth.

🤩💼 UrFU Among Universities with the Highest Salaries for Finance Graduates 🏦 UrFU ranks 12th in the SuperJob Ranking of Russian Universities with the highest salaries for economics and finance graduates. ↗️According to the results: ⏺️Average monthly salary of UrFU economics graduates: 120,000 rubles (up 10,000 rubles from 2025). ⏺️79% of graduates stay in Ekaterinburg after graduation "More than 80% of students find employment during their studies, starting from their 2nd or 3rd year. Through internships, case competitions, and project‑based learning, our graduates gain hands‑on experience at leading banks and investment firms," said Dmitry Tolmachev, Head of GSEM.

🇨🇳 Head of Chinese Alumni Association of UPI, USU and UrFU Visited the University 🤝 Jiang Jing, a graduate of UPI (now UrFU) and a leading researcher at the Department of Russian Economics Research, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), paid a working visit to her alma mater as a part of CASS delegation. 👨‍🏫She met with Chinese students and discussed the work of the Chinese Alumni Association of UPI, USU and UrFU. ⚡️It's worth mentioning that the "China" endowment fund of UrFU is now open. It will support initiatives and projects of university students from China.

❤️ UrFU Graduates in Economics in High Demand 🇷🇺 UrFU took 11th place in the top 15 Russian financial and economic universities, becoming the first university outside two capitals. 👍 Future financiers are trained at the UrFU Graduate School of Economics and Management. Their graduates successfully find jobs both in the country's leading financial institutions and in the financial divisions of corporations in other sectors of the economy. ⚡️More than 80% of students find a job during their studies, starting from the second or third year of their bachelor's degree.

🤝 UrFU Alumnus Appointed Vice-Governor of Sverdlovsk Region ⚡️According to the Department of Information Policy of the region, the Head of the Sverdlovsk Region, Denis Pasler, confirmed his deputy, Vasiliy Kozlov, as Vice-governor. 👩‍🎓 Vasiliy Kozlov graduated from the UrFU Faculty of Physics and Technology. He has served as Deputy Governor since 2022. Starting in 2007, he served as an adviser to the Chairman of the Government of the Sverdlovsk Region. In 2010, he took up the post of Vice-Rector of the Ural Federal University (UrFU); in 2018, he became Minister of International and Foreign Economic Relations of the Middle Urals.

🤝 UrFU Graduates Are Cheerleading Champions 👫 Dmitry and Anna Kuznetsov, graduates and former members of the UrFU cheerleading team, competed together at various championships until 2017. Now they practise the sport with their children. "The funny thing is, Anya and I were practising stunts when the kids were still in the womb, so you could say they started learning it even then. UrFU Graduate Received a Diploma and a Medal on Behalf of the President of Russia Andrei Aristov, Charge d'affaires of the Russian Embassy in Iraq, presented Mohammed Alnaqeeb, UrFU graduate, with a certificate of honor signed by the President of the Russian Federation and a commemorative medal for his successful participation in the World Youth Festival 2024, held at the Sirius Center in Sochi. This award highlights the high level of education of UrFU graduates, their achievements in the international arena and their active contribution to the development of intercultural dialogue.

🤝 UrFU Alumnus Presents Russian-Jordanian Cultural Tourism Concept at St. Petersburg Conference 🇯🇴 Sakher Al-Tamimi, UrFU graduate from Jordan and assistant professor at the Department of Cultural Studies and Design, made a presentation at an international conference in St. Petersburg. 👩‍🎓 On April 22-23, St. Petersburg hosted an annual international multi-sectional conference dedicated to the involvement of cultural and natural heritage sites, as well as subjects of tourism, culture, and entertainment in regional and global spiritual and educational routes. 👨‍🏫Sakher Al-Tamimi spoke on the topic Development of Russian-Jordanian cooperation in tourism: formation of routes based on spiritual and historical values. ⚡️In the report, he highlighted the prospects for joint tourism initiatives between the two countries, proposing concepts for routes combining the spiritual and historical heritage of Russia and Jordan.

🤝 UrFU Alumnus Became a Professional Traveller 👩‍🎓 Nikolai Rundkvist, a 1979 alumnus of Ural Polytechnic Institute (now UrFU), has an unusual professional path. Having defended his PhD thesis on the topic Structure and Properties of Stainless Mertensitic-aging Steels in 1984, he worked at the Department of Metallurgical Science. ⚡️In 1990, he quit the job and became a professional traveller and a writer. 🏔 Throughout the years, he has organised different expeditions such as The Big Urals (from Magnitogorsk to the shore of the Kara Sea, 1991), Through the Russian Roads (from Vyborg to the Cape Dezhnyov, 1997). 👩‍🎓 He has published 33 scientific publications, including articles, encyclopedias and photo albums. 👏 Nikolai Rundkvist is the president of the Russian Association of Hikers and a member of the organizing committee of the European Travelers Association.
